“He’s the only good player Man United have and the best in the Premier League, all my teammates are afraid of facing him…But he’s just wasting his time at the club, he must join us if he really want to win trophies”: Man City superstar praises Man United player and urged him to leave the club immediately

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, thinks Marcus Rashford is “on the way back” to his best after receiving outside assistance and developing his self-discipline.

Following the Dutchman’s appointment as manager, the 26-year-old had his finest season at his childhood club, netting 30 goals in 2022–2023 and excelling for England.

However, Rashford’s play deteriorated last season; he only scored eight goals and was left out of the Euro 2024 squad, all while making headlines for a few off-field issues.

The forward was put under intense scrutiny at the beginning of the season, but he has since shown promise, scoring two goals against Barnsley and Southampton last weekend for his first goal since March.

Ten Hag stated, “I think resilience is something that every player in the Premier League, but especially this club, needs.”

“A football career is not just about going up.” You must deal with it because it is also declining.

Because of his experience, Marcus Rashford also knows how to handle failures and how to advance his career and performance.

He then assumed charge of it, and I believe he is headed back. He had a strong start to the season and now needs to keep going and get better.

In response to a question about what he, United manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, and other staff members had done to assist Rashford in getting back on track, the manager said: “I think he needed some support, like encouragement.”

In his past two games, Marcus Rashford has scored three goals (Mike Egerton/PA). “But in the end, he has to do it alone.”

“He must establish the proper foundation for his life, his training mindset, and his match mindset.

“He is a class player, so he will perform when he puts all of his professionalism into it.”

When asked about a possible England comeback, Ten Hag responded, “He will always be an option for every manager, but it is not up to me.” He was also questioned about the off-field issues from the previous season.

The United manager stated in October of last year that Rashford’s attendance at a nightclub party just hours after the humiliating derby loss to Manchester City was “unacceptable.”

More late-night antics occurred in January, when he was penalized for allegedly going out in Belfast and then being sick upon his return from Northern Ireland, which prevented him from training.

Ten Hag stated: “I believe he always knew, and every player knows, because you can’t compete in the levels we have to compete in when your lifestyle isn’t proper.

“And when you don’t have a good and disciplined life away from Carrington (United’s training ground), you don’t get the right levels.”

Rashford’s prospects of starting at Crystal Palace on Saturday night were increased by his efforts in Tuesday’s 7-0 Carabao Cup victory over Barnsley and last weekend’s 3-0 league victory over Southampton.

Along with his brace from midweek, Alejandro Garnacho is vying for a starting spot in the forward line, where Amad Diallo has shown promise this season.

Regarding Diallo, Ten Hag stated, “He’s doing very well.” “I would say that since January, he has made significant development and is now taken into consideration for every game.

“I also hope he continues with this process because he possesses certain qualities that can be very beneficial to a team.”
