HERE WE GO: Player representatives now in London to complete paperwork for the arrival of third Man united signing, bid approved as deal set to be official today

NOW WE DO: The third Manchester United signing is expected to arrive today, and player representatives are already in London finalising the necessary paperwork. The bid has been accepted.

Sander Berge is prepared to make the transfer, and Man United is about to make an offer to sign him.

Manchester United has been strongly connected with a bid to sign Burnley’s Sander Berge in the past few days. The Old Trafford team seems to be thinking that getting a central player is the next obvious move after adding a defender and striker.

Erik ten Hag will not be dining at the top table here until a big-money deal is made because he is strapped for cash. Since none of them seem likely to happen soon, the Reds are considering less expensive possibilities in an effort to strengthen their midfield.

Berge’s transfer to United is reportedly now official, according to TEAMtalk, which is a fascinating development. Furthermore, it says that the Reds are currently getting ready to make a “tempting bid” to sign the player.

It won’t be a problem to agree on personal terms with the Norwegian Berge, so United just needs to agree on a fee with Burnley to finalise the signing.

While the Reds’ offer is expected to come in at about £25 million, including add-ons, Burnley is hoping to hang out for £30 million to allow Berge to depart.

Despite being a member of a Burnley club that failed to avoid relegation, Berge is an excellent player who would greatly enhance this United team.

The Old Trafford team needs to sign a defensive midfielder in order to support the ageing Casemiro until the Brazilian is inevitably replaced. That dude may very well be Berge.

The fact that United must sell before they can purchase has been emphasised once more. Berge may need to wait until the conclusion of the window given that the Reds are still interested in acquiring Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt.
