HERE WE GO: Arsenal have reached verbal agreement to sign £70m European superstar,Bid accepted as medical schedule to hold today – welcome to Emirate

Johan Bakayoko of PSV Eindhoven might provide Arsenal with a boost if he signs him during the current transfer window.

The Belgium international made 48 appearances during the 2023–24 season, scoring 14 goals and dishing out 14 assists for PSV.

Since then, he has been predicted to seek a more difficult task, and it was recently reported that Arsenal may be the favourite to sign him over Liverpool.

For £38 million, the Dutch champions are willing to let go of Bakayoko. With his remarks, the 21-year-old has now given Arsenal motivation.

Speaking to Voetbal International today, Bakayoko declared that he has lofty goals for himself and does not want to play for clubs in the middle division.

He went on to say that he wants to join a team that can contend for championships and advance far in the Champions League.

“I exclude a lot of clubs,” he declared. My goals are not with the middle-tier teams; rather, they are lofty. Since I’m succeeding here, I won’t trade PSV for any other club that holds prize competitions.

“I would like to join a team that has the potential to advance far in the Champions League. A team where I can always get better and where we compete for the championship each season.

“Moving now might be a good idea, but that might not be the case next year.”

Arsenal received a signing bonus for Bakayoko
The last two seasons, the Gunners have placed second in the Premier League. They lost to Manchester City in the recent campaign for the title by a mere two points.

Although the team has not yet signed an outfield player for the summer, supporters will be looking for action in the upcoming days and weeks. Giving priority to a new winger to assist Bukayo Saka is a good idea.

Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao has been linked for some time, but it appears that he wants to sign with Barcelona, who are currently attempting to negotiate personal conditions.

It is our opinion that Arsenal should focus on Bakayoko, a right flank specialist.

In addition to contributing 28 goals last season, he excelled in other areas as well. He won five duels and 2.8 takeaways per game. His accuracy rate was 87 percent for passing.

The team has been overly dependent on Saka at the right wing, and the Belgian would be a perfect addition to offer competition and depth in that position. Saka does not have a suitable replacement.
