Harry Redknapp appears to make Nazi salute and calls Thomas Tuchel a ‘German spy’ in shocking video

When Harry Redknapp, a former manager of the Premier League, made some offensive remarks about Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of England, at a charity event, he appeared to make a gesture that was similar to a Nazi salute.

At a charity event, Redknapp, who is 78 years old, was seen making a number of offensive remarks about Tuchel, who is 51 years old. The Guardian published a video of Redknapp, who was a manager at Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United, speaking. In the video, Redknapp claims that Tuchel is a “German spy.”

“If I’m being completely honest with you, I believe that he is a German spy,” Redknapp said. “I am able to tell you. He has been dispatched to our location in order to f**k us up. Indeed, he has.

“Let me tell you, he’s like Lord Haw Haw in the war. He says things like, ‘We have your best soldiers captured,’ and everything else as well.”

Redknapp then appears to act out an instruction that was given to Tuchel, saying “go over and ruin that team.” After that, he puts on what appears to be a German accent and adds “Ja” before proceeding to appear to perform a gesture that resembled a Nazi salute, which is also known as the Hitler salute.

A number of individuals in the audience responded positively to the remarks before Redknapp made his statement, which was as follows: “I’m going, I’ve got to go and see my accountant.”

The incident reportedly took place prior to Tuchel’s first two games as the manager of the Three Lions, as reported by The Guardian.

Throughout his coaching career, Redknapp was frequently mentioned in connection with the position of England manager. He stated that he “wanted an Englishman to manage England” after the Football Association (FA) announced that Tuchel would be taking over as manager of England in October 2024.

During his appearance on Sky Sports, Redknapp provided an explanation wherein he stated, “He’s lost his job quite quickly at a couple of clubs.”

“It’s not like he’s been a huge success,” the speaker said. A couple of clubs have seen him come and go a few times. Due to the fact that I am extremely patriotic, I believe that we ought to have an English manager; however, it is evident that the pool of candidates was extremely limited.

Tuchel is one of only three foreign managers to have ever been given the responsibility of managing England. The other two such managers are Fabio Capello and Sven-Goran Eriksson. Fans of football, pundits, and members of the media have all expressed a variety of reactions to his appointment; however, those who are sceptical will be proven wrong if Tuchel accomplishes something that no England manager has done since 1966 and wins the World Cup in 2026.

An attempt has been made by SPORTbible to obtain a comment from representatives of Redknapp.
