Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong has been flourishing on loan at Preston North End, but that could soon come to an end.
David Moyes has additional selection issues in the coming weeks as Idrissa Gana Gueye prepares for his final game before the Africa Cup of Nations.
Everton had no problems this weekend in their comfortable victory over Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest.
However, Moyes wants Everton to compete in Europe this season, and to do so, they will need a roster with depth and talent.
The Blues will be put to the test in the coming weeks, as both Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye leave for international duty.
Moyes confirmed that he will consider recalling Armstrong, but the 18-year-old midfielder has now given his opinion on what may happen in January.

Harrison Armstrong sends a clear Everton recall message against Preston.
Last week, Paul Heckingbottom stated that Armstrong is delighted at Preston, where he can play regular football.
The Toffees may need to bring him back, though, given Merlin Rohl’s injury setback, which limits their alternatives.
The child has finally spoken to the Lancashire Evening Post, where he discussed the possibility of returning to Merseyside.
“Well, I believe it’s out of my hands. Whatever choice is made, I just hope it’s for the best for my development, and I’d like to stay here and contribute to the squad, and hopefully we can go into the play-offs,” said the Everton loan player.
“I’m just leaving it in the hands of the people who control it.”
Armstrong has blown Preston fans away, and he even scored his first goal for the Lilywhites this weekend.
It’s been another excellent loan transfer for the 18-year-old, and he appears to be content to stay at Deepdale for the rest of the season.
Armstrong demonstrates tremendous growth away from Everton.
Everton News columnist Alan Myers expects Everton to look for a new midfielder when the market opens next month.
This may reduce the pressure to bring back the 18-year-old from Lancashire.
Armstrong has just recently returned from injury, and he came off the bench at the weekend to help Preston draw with Wrexham.
The kid has been prominently featured this season under Paul Heckingbottom, who has been very impressed with Armstrong.
Everton faces a hard decision, as Armstrong has hinted that staying on loan may be the best option for his development.
