Hansi Flick names one club who could prevent Barcelona from winning the Champions League this season

Hansi Flick is of the opinion that there is only one team that has the potential to pose a threat to the Barcelona team’s competition for Champions League glory this season.

To this point in 2025, Barcelona has not suffered a single defeat, as they have not lost any of their previous twelve matches across all competitions.

This remarkable streak extends all the way into Europe, with Flick’s team suffering only a single defeat at the hands of Monaco during the revamped League Phase.

Given that Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal are all performing exceptionally well, it is possible that the Spanish giants will triumph in the Champions League for the sixth time.

Although it appears that Manager Flick is of the same opinion, he does believe that there is one team that poses a greater threat than the majority of them to Barca’s chances of winning this season.

During the month of January, Flick made the statement that “the future will tell whether we are among the favourites or not.”

When it comes to competitions, the Champions League is among the most challenging to win, but we have no choice but to persevere.

When I look at Liverpool, I see a team that possesses an unprecedented amount of power. At the moment, they are one of the teams that I admire the most all over the world.

Although we are doing well, there are other very good teams that are also doing well, and we are competing on three fronts: the Champions League, La Liga, and the Copa del Rey.

At the moment, the majority of bookmakers have Liverpool ranked as the second favourite, with Real Madrid being the team that is currently the reigning champion.

As a result of the new seeding system that will be implemented as part of the draw for the round of 16 and beyond, which will take place at eleven in the morning on Friday, February 21st, Barcelona will not be able to square off against Liverpool until the final.

If an all-Spanish final takes place, Barcelona will possess a sense of self-assurance, particularly considering that they have already triumphed over their most formidable adversaries on two separate occasions so far this season.

Although Flick has already lauded Real Madrid’s credentials for this season, he will be confident that he already has the tactical advantage over Italian Ancelotti due to the fact that he has a record of success against him in recent times.

“My players need to forget about the noise around them; we must be strong ourselves,” said the former Bayern manager after Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup in January. “We must be strong ourselves,” he said.

“We want to play in a way that is representative of the Barcelona style, which we demonstrated very well in the most recent Clasico.

We won’t be doing anything particularly noteworthy. With that being said, it is impossible to compare one Clasico to another; we begin with a score of 0-0, and our only goal is to perform well and win.
