Liverpool now leads the Premier League by 15 points, and unless there is a significant change in circumstances, the Reds should win the championship in the final months of the season.
After making a “painful” prediction, Gary Neville feels that Liverpool’s name is already being inscribed on the Premier League trophy.
After defeating struggling Southampton at Anfield, the Reds now lead the table by 15 points, while Manchester United held Arsenal over the weekend. To allow Liverpool to lose the trophy, Arne Slot’s team must fail spectacularly and Arsenal’s results must drastically improve.
As Liverpool’s Premier League obligations are postponed, the pressure may increase in the upcoming weeks. However, Neville, a legend of United, thinks that could only help them and that the trophy will soon be carried around Anfield.
“I think it is going to be positive for Liverpool having these big games, they have not got time to stop and think,” he stated. “They have this, but they won’t feel comfortable in the league. They are in possession of this title.
“As we speak, the ribbons and colours are being changed, and the engraver is beginning to write the first ‘L’ on the trophy, which is a sad notion. When it is 1-1 (for Arsenal), they have more than one hand on the trophy. For Liverpool, winning the Premier League title is huge.
“It is significant to win the crown. We are aware that winning titles is your main source of income, but we also realise that winning the Champions League is significant for Liverpool.
“I believe that players like Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Andrew Robertson will win a second trophy in order to tie United for the most titles, for it to be 20-20, and for Arne Slot to win a title in his first season.

Even though Neville believes Liverpool would be celebrating their championship victory next month, they would still need to win six games to secure the crown as soon as possible. To be crowned champions, Slot’s team only needs to win five times.
However, it may not even require that many. If Liverpool defeats Everton and Fulham on April 12, they will be crowned champions. They must, however, hope Arsenal loses to Chelsea, Fulham, and Everton, their London rivals, in order to accomplish that. Liverpool will be crowned Premier League champions for the second time if the Gunners lose to Brentford in their next match.
