Fresh Birmingham City, Che Adams transfer claim emerges.

A new transfer claim has arisen between Birmingham City and former hotshot Che Adams, who currently plays for Serie A giants Torino.

According to Birmingham Live, officials at St. Andrew’s at Knighthead Park are open to the possibility of a “sentimental signing” involving the Scotland international, who was sold to Southampton six and a half years earlier.

It has been no secret that the Blues intend to quickly stamp their dominance on the Championship this season, with ownership company Knighthead Capital Management intending to supervise significant development that will conclude in a first Premier League appearance since May 2011.

After returning to the second tier as League One champions, the West Midlands club had another summer of high-profile activity under Chris Davies’ direction.

Indeed, 14 permanent or temporary acquisitions were completed in B9 throughout the summer months, while Birmingham ruthlessly parted ways with Krystian Bielik and Alfie May.

The latter, of course, was expecting to see his formerly regular gametime reduced despite a 16-goal haul last season, with the Blues signing Kyogo Furuhashi from Stade Rennais in Ligue 1 and Marvin Ducksch from Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, respectively.

The aforementioned players currently make up half of Davies’ natural centre-forward options, plus the poster-boy of Knighthead’s redevelopment and club-record signing, Jay Stansfield, and experienced Championship combatant Lyndon Dykes.

However, with the Second City side now in 14th place, seven points behind the top six after 34 points from 26 games, the club’s transfer plans between now and February 2nd have received widespread attention.

Football League World understands that up to eight players might depart St. Andrew’s between now and the transfer deadline, with the Blues having already said goodbye to Emil Hansson and Eiran Cashin.

And, with part of the upheaval potentially affecting Davies’ offensive options, Adams’ prospective return with his previous club has resurfaced as a heated topic of debate, with the Leicester-born forward the subject of similar links this summer.

A new allegation has emerged regarding a possible transfer reunion between Birmingham City and Che Adams.

Talk of a possible return to St. Andrew’s for the 45-time Scotland international first appeared in the last week of the Blues’ League One season, with reports claiming that the club was planning an ambitious transfer raid.

Such claims persisted throughout the summer, with Football League World exclusively revealing in mid-August that Blues inquired about the availability of their former forward, who scored 38 goals and assisted 13 times in 123 appearances for the club after joining from Sheffield United in the summer of 2016 under Gary Rowett.

The aforementioned revelation did state that the reported £1.75 million switch which saw Ducksch – who was the match-winner against Coventry City last time out – came after Birmingham learned that a package for the 29-year-old striker would have been out of the club’s financial realms in the short-term, despite investing an eight-figure sum on Kyogo, who is reportedly the subject of a potentially surprise return to Celtic after a dismal six-month period that includes zero Champ

Following a report from Football Insider claiming that the Blues would look to add more depth in the striking department as well as defensive and midfield reinforcements, it was reported that Charlton Athletic are interested in Dykes, though FLW understands that Adams’ international colleague will not be allowed to leave unless a replacement is found.

According to Birmingham Live, club representatives still adore Adams and are “partial” to a reunion, having previously seen the currently injured Demarai Gray become a standout player under Davies after returning to his boyhood club on a free transfer.

Adams has made 18 appearances in Serie A for Torino this season, 10 of which have been starts, scoring three times.

Che Adams’ acquisition would be another statement for Birmingham City.

It remains to be seen what happens in the coming weeks, but there is little doubt that Adams’ return to B9 would be another statement signing for the Blues.

Of course, the club has had mixed results from its significant investments in Stansfield and Kyogo. Adams, on the other hand, is already a proven goal scorer at Championship and higher levels, having helped Saints return to the top tier under Russell Martin two seasons ago before leaving on a free transfer, costing the South Coast club £15 million.
