Frank Lampard emerges onto the scene to be the new Celtic manager as the announcement is made.

Celtic are looking for a new manager now that Wilfried Nancy has been fired.

It will be the fourth manager of the season, following Brendan Rodgers, Martin O’Neill, and Nancy.

Prior to the Frenchman’s dismissal, Shaun Maloney was considered the front-runner for the Celtic job. However, the odds have shifted.

While O’Neill remains a candidate for the Hoops position, Frank Lampard, who is reportedly in the running, may be a surprise hire.

Frank Lampard, who has had a successful 2025-26 season, is the 10/1 favorite to succeed Wilfried Nancy at Celtic.

The former Chelsea manager has rebuilt his managerial name in the Championship, and he appears to be on track to return to the Premier League with the Midlands club.

Lampard took over Coventry in 2024 and led the team into the Championship playoffs last season.
While this ended in failure, he is now leading the Championship with Coventry, eight points ahead of third.
As a result, Lampard has been linked to various potential roles away from Coventry following his performance so far.

However, now the bookies are not ruling out a surprise mid-season switch to Celtic.

Lampard’s odds at Celtic are as low as 10/1, putting him the fifth favourite for the position.

Who is the bookmakers’ favourite to take over at Celtic?

O’Neill is currently the favourite to take over Celtic, as expected.

In what would be a fantastic twist, one bookmaker offers odds as low as 5/6 on Celtic Park’s comeback.

With O’Neill already back in Scotland, it remains to be seen whether the Hoops will make a play for their former interim manager.

Maloney is now the second favourite at 2/1, while Ange Postecoglou might return at 4/1.

Another outsider for the post is Kjetil Knutsen, who is currently the manager of Bodo/Glimt and is rated at 8/1 to win.

The Norwegian has helped transform the club into an Eliteserien powerhouse, and the 57-year-old is presently vying for a fifth top division championship.
