Four transfer bargains that could persuade Chelsea to abandon Victor Osimhen deal

Joao Felix is the latest player to sign with Chelsea. It looks like Chelsea’s busy summer isn’t going to end any time soon.

This makes the 24-year-old the 36th official signing under Todd Boehly. He signed a seven-year deal with the club.

But Chelsea could still close more deals before next week’s deadline. They want to add a striker to their team, and Victor Osimhen is said to be the front-runner right now.

But Express Sport has found four cheaper players Chelsea could use instead of Osimhen if a deal for him can’t be made in time.

Jonathan David – Lille

With all the money that has been spent on strikers recently, it’s a bit of a wonder that Jonathan David hasn’t been picked up by one of the best teams in Europe yet.

David scores almost every other game for Lille in Ligue 1, and Transfermarkt says he’s worth less than £50 million. He has one year left on his contract.

It depends on how badly Chelsea wants to get a striker this summer if David is still a good deal in the last week of the window.

Gimenez Santiago plays for Feyenoord.

Fans of the Premier League will likely get to see Santiago Gimenez this season, as Nottingham Forest wants to sign the Mexican.

Reports say that Forest’s first bid of £21 million was turned down, but they are ready to raise their offer before the deadline on 30 August.

It’s not clear if it will be enough to get Feyenoord to sell, but Gimenez won’t cost a lot of money, so he could be another option for Chelsea instead of Osimhen.
