Former Man United Player ‘Lost For Words’ After Huge Lottery Win

Cliff Bull, the former Manchester United player who was taken to Old Trafford by Sir Matt Busby when he was fifteen, has won a whopping £400,000 on the Postcode Lottery. He says he was “staggered” when a television crew knocked on his door.

Only fans of Manchester United might recognise the name Bull. He joined as a schoolboy in 1957, just before the Munich Air Disaster, and then signed for Nottingham Forest, where his career came to an end. He is currently eighty-two years old.

A string of knee injuries that defined Bull’s career ended it. Despite this, he was still able to play with players like Nobby Stiles, an all-action midfielder who is considered by many to be one of the most diligent players in British football history.

Many years later, Bull’s name is making the rounds as one of the most recent winners of the Postcode Lottery jackpot, which is £400,000. According to The Mirror, Bull has stated that he was “lost for words” at the enormous amount of money he will be receiving.

I’m completely stunned and still at a loss for words. It creates so many opportunities. To be honest, I’m overwhelmed. It beyond my wildest expectations.

Bull, who lives in Gotham, Nottinghamshire, has already planned what he will do with his newfound wealth: a vacation for his 22-member family. “I can cover the cost of a family vacation,” the former winger declared. “It would be my dream if we all left, which was 22 at the latest count. This would bring me great joy.

Tragically, Bull lost his wife, Jeanette, three years ago after the two used their lottery winnings to donate to charitable causes. “The overwhelming disappointment is that she’s not here to see it, but she’s a big part of this,” a tearful Bull remarked.

Having retrained as a plumber after football, the ecstatic family man is thrilled to be able to provide for his three daughters, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. He stated, as reported by Manchester Evening News:

Given the cost of items today, I will be able to provide financial support to all of my grandchildren. They’ll be ecstatic, possibly even more than I am.

“As I age, I hope to live for a few more years, and it would be wonderful to have the entire family with me. “Skegness is a little bit nippy at this time of year; we might have to go somewhere a little bit warmer,” he said.

“I was 15 when I signed for Manchester United, and I signed the papers in Matt Busby’s office,” Bull, 82, said when he first started working at Old Trafford. “Being able to kiss Matt Busby was one of the greatest kicks I’ve had in my life,” my mother would often say.
