Football injury expert gives Ayden Heaven update and estimates when Man Utd defender could return after Leicester setback

After being taken off the pitch by stretcher during Manchester United’s match against Leicester City on Sunday evening, a football injury expert has provided an update on the situation regarding Ayden Heaven.

Heaven made his third appearance for United after departing Arsenal for a transfer fee of one million pounds in January. Heaven’s previous club was Arsenal.

Because of injuries sustained by players such as Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and Leny Yoro, Heaven was given the opportunity to earn a spot in the starting lineup at the centre of Ruben Amorim’s defensive unit.

However, unfortunately for the young centre back, he suffered an injury himself during the 3-0 victory over Leicester City. They were victorious. Heaven experienced immediate discomfort after landing awkwardly during a tangle with Patson Daka; this occurred at the beginning of the second half of the game.

Heaven left on a stretcher and was replaced by Toby Collyer after a delay of five minutes. Heaven was replaced by Collyer. The decision was made by Sky Sports to not broadcast replays of the incident, which took place during the 18-year-old player’s very first start in the Premier League.

According to what Amorim said to Sky Sports after the game, “Well, we have to evaluate during the week.”

“Because he is a young child, he is unable to articulate the emotions that he is experiencing, which makes it difficult for us to understand something.”

In large part because there were no replays available, there was a lack of information regarding the specific injury that Heaven sustained; however, on X, @physioscout disclosed new information regarding the center-back’s struggle.

It was stated in the account that it appeared as though his left ankle became trapped, and the most likely outcome is a lateral ankle sprain, which has a maximum potential recovery time of six weeks if it is a grade three injury.

On the other hand, the worst-case scenario is a fracture in the lower leg, which will require a minimum of six weeks to heal as long as it is visible on an X-ray.

According to the account, “Ayden Heaven had to come off early in the second half for Manchester United with a lower leg injury,” and it was accompanied by a zoomed in image of the player.

Given that the match director made the decision not to show any additional footage, there are very few replays. It is a little bit challenging to provide a comprehensive breakdown. The live match, on the other hand, appears to show that Daka’s challenge causes the left ankle to become trapped underneath there.

In most cases, a mechanism that is less concerning, with a lateral ankle sprain being the most likely outcome. Nevertheless, X-rays will also be required to confirm the presence of a fracture in the lower leg.

Regarding the injury, Heaven breaks his silence.
Heaven did not post anything on his feed, but he did leave a comment on Rasmus Hojlund’s Instagram post shortly after 11 o’clock at night. This was in response to Hojlund’s recent goal drought, which he ended by scoring that goal. “Deserved” was the only word he wrote.
