England Loses in the Final of Euro 2024
One Tottenham player praised the Three Lions team on social media despite England’s defeat in the Euro 2024 final.

Spain defeated England 2-1 in a thrilling Euro 2024 final in Berlin, with a late goal giving Luis de la Fuente’s team the win.
James Maddison thanked the England team for their efforts in a positive Instagram post. So proud of that set of men, Maddison said with a snapshot of Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher, Declan Rice, and Kobbie Mainoo. Fall at the final hurdle, but it doesn’t take away from the incredible memories this group once again brought to the nation.
England fell behind early in the second half to a goal by Nico Williams, but Cole Palmer of Chelsea struck a spectacular equaliser in the 73rd minute to pull the team level. But in the 86th minute, Marc Cucurella helped Mikel Oyarzabal score the game-winning goal as Spain counterattacked.
Maddison’s Exclusion from the Title Game
Having been left out of Gareth Southgate’s initial 30-man team, James Maddison did not make the final England roster. The Tottenham player played in friendlies against Belgium and Bosnia earlier this year. He has seven caps for England and one assist (Transfermarkt).

With their overall performance during the tournament, Spain deserved to win. It’s disappointing that although England was able to draw even, they were unable to use the momentum to put further pressure on the opposition and perhaps win.
