Fans spot shock player travelling to Spurs vs Man Utd Europa League final and very few expected him there

A surprise player has been sighted by fans heading to the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham.

Two days remain until Bilbao hosts Spurs and Manchester United in the all-English Europa League final.

Both teams are hoping to salvage their season with a European trophy after enduring a terrible Premier League campaign.

Last Friday, Spurs and Manchester United both played, losing to Chelsea and Aston Villa, respectively.

Before playing their Premier League counterparts in Wednesday’s crucial match, Ange Postecoglou’s team suffered a serious injury setback in their 2-0 loss at Villa Park.

Postecoglou already lacks a number of important players, such as Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski.

James Maddison is also out after sustaining a knee injury during his team’s victory over Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of the semi-final.

However, Maddison is travelling to Spain with the team for Spurs’ Europa League final.

As the Spurs team took off, he was spotted getting on a coach and shared the photo on social media.

Fans were discussing his look on the internet and wondering if he could contribute against Manchester United.

“Maddison travelled with the squad?” wrote one X user.

James Maddison has accompanied the team to Bilbao, according to a second. Just there to help the boys, I suppose. Correct…?”

According to a third, “To support the boys of course.”

Since Postecoglou has ruled Maddison out of the season due to his injury, he has probably travelled to Bilbao to offer support.

The Spurs manager stated earlier this month: “Madders injured his knee during the first leg. He will be out for the remainder of the season.

More than anything else, he is disappointed since he has been a major motivator for us.

“He loses out, but that’s a recurring theme in our season as we deal with these issues. We’ll just have to get past that.

This season, Maddison has made 45 appearances, 11 of which have been in the Europa League.
