Fans Speechless as Nick Woltemade Scores ‘Best Penalty of All Time’

Against Nottingham Forest, the Newcastle United striker extended the Magpies’ lead.

Fans have praised Nick Woltemade’s penalty kick for Newcastle United versus Nottingham Forest as one of the best they have ever seen.

Over the summer, Woltemade moved from Stuttgart to Newcastle for an initial reported transfer fee of £65 million.

The 23-year-old Germany international joined to partially cover for Alexander Isak following the Swedish striker’s record-breaking £125 million move to Liverpool.

Woltemade kicked off this afternoon’s Premier League match at St. James’ Park, where Eddie Howe’s team sought to defeat Forest, who are now winless in all competitions under new manager Ange Postecoglou, in order to wrap up the forthcoming international break.

Midfielder Bruno Guimaraes’ curling effort gave the Magpies the lead in the second half.

Elliot Anderson, a former Newcastle youth, then dragged the Brazilian down in the box, turning him into a provider.

The next penalty was taken by Woltemade, who ran up slowly before finishing forcefully with a shot into the top right corner that hit the roof of the net and was impossible for most goalkeepers to stop.

With the victory, Newcastle is now 11th in the top division standings before Brentford plays Manchester City, while Forest is just one point and one spot above the relegation zone as Postecoglou faces increasing pressure.

Woltemade became just the third player to score in his first three Premier League games for the North East club after striking this afternoon. Les Ferdinand and Alan Shearer accomplished this feat in 1995 and 1996, respectively, and Woltemade is now in illustrious company in Newcastle legend.

Fans have praised the Germany international immediately after the remarkable performance, especially the penalty that made it possible.

On social media, some people have even gone so far as to claim that Woltemade’s penalty against Forest is one of the “best of all time.”

A fan wrote on social media, “Nick Woltemade with the best penalty of all time.”

As one fan put it, “That’s outrageous that penalty from Woltemade one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

A supporter commented: “Woltemade with the best weirdest looking penalty I have ever seen.”

According to a different fan, “That Woltemade penalty was GORGEOUS.”

One admirer remarked simply, “Woltemade……..never seen a penalty so beautiful.”

Newcastle will play Brighton & Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium in the Premier League when they resume play following the international break.
