Fans in disbelief after spotting ‘unrecognisable’ former Chelsea player in Liverpool charity game

A former Chelsea player who appears to be completely unrecognisable in today’s world has left fans in a state of utter disbelief.

A packed charity game was played at Anfield on Saturday, and it featured a team of former Blues players competing against Liverpool legends. A number of players, including Sami Hyypia, Dirk Kuyt, Yossi Benayoun, Ryan Babel, and Djibril Cisse, were reunited with legendary Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who was also seen wearing red.

Rolling back the years, Peter Crouch scored a brace and performed his robot celebration, which proved to be the game-winning goal in the 2-0 victory.

As for Chelsea, the team was led by former player and manager Roberto Di Matteo, and it featured players such as Gianfranco Zola, Claude Makelele, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, John Obi Mikel, Eidur Gudjohnsen, and Jose Bosingwa.

Although he was suspended for the final match due to receiving an excessive number of yellow cards, former midfielder Ramires was also included in the starting eleven. Ramires was a significant contributor to the club’s remarkable Champions League victory under Di Matteo.

After moving from Benfica to Manchester United in 2010, the Brazilian player went on to win the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League, and League Cup. He also made 251 appearances during his time with the club.

On the other hand, those who supported him were taken aback by the dramatic change in his appearance. Ramires was able to move around the pitch with ease thanks to his extremely small frame and the fact that he shaved his head when he was at Chelsea.

In spite of this, Ramires appears to have completely transformed his appearance, as evidenced by photographs that have been shared on various social media platforms.

“Today I had the pleasure of training again at Cobham and reuniting with great friends I made while defending Chelsea,” Ramires wrote on Instagram, where he shared the photographs during the training session.

The Chelsea Legends will be playing their next game tomorrow! Don’t be so timid, Blues!

One of his fans commented on X, “Absolutely unrecognisable hope someone is not scamming Chelsea.” This was in response to his appearance there.

“That’s not Ramires, that’s his brother Ramores,” replied a second person in a humorous manner.

A third chimed in: “No way that’s the same guy he’s sent a friend.”

A fourth user wrote: “That cannot be the same player ?!?!?!?!?”

Ramires left Chelsea in January 2016, becoming one of many Brazilians to move to the Chinese Super League after sealing a then-record £25 million switch.

He joined Jiangsu Suning and played 71 times before he was released and finished his career back in Brazil with Palmeiras.
