Following Martin Zubimendi’s debut for Arsenal in a friendly match against AC Milan, supporters have all formed opinions about the Spain international.

Arsenal is presently on a preseason tour of Asia, and on Wednesday, Mikel Arteta’s team played AC Milan in Singapore.

Zubimendi played in the friendly for the first time since joining the Gunners from Real Sociedad earlier this month.

And after just forty-five minutes of play, the 26-year-old, who is considered one of Europe’s top sixes, impressed Arsenal supporters on social media.

“Look at Zubimendi man, you have changed my life,” one user wrote on X.

“Martin Zubimendi is absolutely quality,” another person said.

A third individual uttered: “Zubimendi guy… He transfers the ball quickly on both flanks with either foot, right or left, and his pass weight seems fantastic.

“Zubimendi actually just passes the ball forward every time,” a fourth person said. Very energizing. He will be beneficial to us.

Bukayo Saka’s goal in the second half gave Arsenal a 1-0 victory over Milan. Zubimendi scored his penalty kick in the ceremonial penalty shootout, but Arsenal lost 6–5.

In addition to Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, Zubimendi is one of Arsenal’s four summer acquisitions to date.

It is thought that Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera are close to joining the Gunners.

Zubimendi told the BBC that he instantly got along with Arteta, his new boss and fellow countryman.

“I don’t know what he saw in me, but I saw him as one of the top coaches in Europe.” He elaborated. “When I left Real Sociedad, I ultimately wanted a good coach.

“I believe I’ve located him. I believe he’s the one because in the few days I’ve been here, I’ve witnessed how careful he is with every element of the game.

“I believe I will attempt to do things that I have never done before. I’ll strive to create balance and my known passing outlet while playing that position.

“Beyond that, I’m sure he’ll ask me to do new things.”
