Fans convinced Champions League draw was ‘fixed’ for one club as knockout ties confirmed

On Friday morning, the draw for the Champions League was made, and fans are adamant that it was arranged in such a way that one club in particular would benefit from it.

The draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland, and included the eight teams that had an automatic qualification from the first league table, as well as the eight teams that had advanced from the knockout play-offs, which had concluded on Wednesday.

All of the players who qualified automatically are seeded, and they were divided into four different pairs according to their standing in the league rankings.

Topping the table Liverpool was paired with Barcelona, which was in second place, Arsenal, which was in third place, was linked with Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid was paired with Bayer Leverkusen, and Lille and Aston Villa were the final pairings.

After that, the pairs were assigned to one of two positions in the draw, which resulted in them being placed on opposite sides of the bracket. This meant that each team had two potential opponents moving forward to the round of 16.

In the round of 16, there will be another Madrid derby between Real and Atletico, a match between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, a match between Arsenal and PSV, a match between Liverpool and PSG, a match between Aston Villa and Club Brugge, a match between Borussia Dortmund and Lille, Feyenoord and Benfica, and a match between Barcelona and Benfica, which will be a rematch of one of the most eventful group stage matches.

The potential opponents for the quarterfinals and semi-finals were also mapped out, but fans believe that the draw was extremely kind to Barcelona. Barcelona is on the opposite side of the bracket from Real Madrid, who are their rivals in the El Clasico. Barcelona also avoided English teams Liverpool, Arsenal, and Aston Villa, in addition to Paris Saint-Germain.

The following comment was made by a supporter on X: “Guess it’s Fixed for Barcelona to win!”

An additional individual stated: “Barcelona always have easy draws you can’t convince me otherwise.”

A third person chimed in, saying, “Of course, it’s an easy path for Barcelona.”

“The way forward is already determined,” a fourth person yelled out. Surprisingly, Barcelona is now on the side of the bracket that is easier.

The reactions are nothing more than a conspiracy theory, and there is no evidence whatsoever that the draw was conducted in a manner that was unethical.

A route that led Barcelona to the final of the Champions League
Barcelona is a five-time champion of the Champions League, with their most recent victory coming as part of their accomplishment of winning the treble in 2015.

They finished in second place in the overall table, behind only Liverpool, and will now compete against Benfica in the round of 16. The Blaugrana will face the team that emerges victorious from the match between Borussia Dortmund and Lille in the quarterfinals, and they will face one of the following teams in the semifinals: Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Feyenoord, or Inter.

As a result, they will refrain from playing Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, and Arsenal until the final, assuming that they are able to reach that point.

On the 31st of May, the highlight of the celebration will take place at the Allianz Arena hosted by Bayern.
