Fans can’t believe what Southampton posted after relegation was confirmed as unwanted Premier League history created

The club made an unwelcome chapter in the history of the Premier League, and fans are honestly unable to believe what Southampton said on social media once it was revealed that they would be dropping down the Premier League.

The humiliating loss that Southampton endured at the hands of Tottenham, which resulted in a 3-1 victory, served as confirmation of their transfer from the Premier League.

In the history of England’s first division, their relegation after 31 games is the earliest that a club has been dismissed from the competition.

Ipswich Town and Derby Country, whose relegation was confirmed with six matches remaining to play in the seasons of 1994/95 and 2007/08 respectively, had previously held the record for the most consecutive matches played in a season. They broke that record.

Following their most recent loss, the Saints announced on social media that they will be withdrawing from the Premier League to pursue other opportunities.

On the other hand, the club refused to acknowledge that they had been demoted. Rather than that, they confirmed their participation in the Championship campaign for the next season, much to the dismay of supporters on social media.

“Today’s result confirms our place in the Championship next season,” Southampton posted on X. “We are already in the Championship.”

A supporter of Southampton’s posted the following in response to the social media post that the club made: “Worded like it’s some sort of achievement.”

An further voice remarked, “Do not use the R word.”

Ivan Juric, who took over as manager of Southampton after Russell Martin was fired in December of last year, made the following statement after the game: “We are aware that we are in a precarious situation, and today was a certain thing.” There is nothing I can say that is negative about the players since it was a really difficult year for everyone.

He went on to say that in order to avoid breaking Derby’s record of 11 points, “We have to avoid that record.” Give it our all. This cannot take place.”

The Southampton team has only managed to win two league games so far this season, while they have suffered a stunning 25 defeats.

Despite the fact that they only have ten points on the board, they are in danger of breaking Derby’s record, which has been unchanged since 2008.

When it comes to their final matches of the season, they will be competing against teams such as Aston Villa, Fulham, Manchester City, and Arsenal.
