Following Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates, Crystal Palace uploaded something to X that startled fans.
Both clubs may have had other competitions on their minds going into the game. Palace will play Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday, and Arsenal will be looking forward to a tantalising Champions League semi-final against PSG on Tuesday.
But Wednesday’s match was enjoyable, especially for Liverpool supporters who were waiting impatiently for Palace to win because they would have been the Premier League champions.
Jakub Kiwior gave the Gunners the lead three minutes in, but Oliver Glasner’s team rallied and equalised on the 27th minute with a volley from Eberechi Eze.
Leandro Trossard gave the home team the lead three minutes before halftime, but Jean-Phillipe Mateta’s incredible long-range goal with seven minutes remaining gave the Eagles another equaliser.
And what Palace shared on social media was what truly got fans talking, regardless of what was happening on the pitch.

The Croydon club wrote on social media at 10:09 p.m. (BST): “You’re welcome Liverpool…” ostensibly in reference to the fact that Arne Slot’s team can now win the title in front of their fans if they overcome Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday.
On social media, people were ready to share their opinions.
“I forgive you for 2014,” one said.
“Good luck on Saturday lads!”
Someone else said: “I had to do a double take on the profile I deadass thought this was a troll account.”
A third clarified: “Very legendary. What a show. deserved victory. Now pardon the 1990 FA Cup semifinal.
A fourth, however, added: “If you had asked me to guess which team posted a tweet like this, we would all say Palace. It was most likely written by Steve Parish.
“Meant to be a Premier League club and they go on like they’re in League Two.”
Glasner, the head coach of Palace, spoke after the game and said he was thrilled with the team’s effort.
Glasner told Palace TV, “I’m really proud of the players and how they performed today.”
Additionally, it’s a difficult situation to play here at Emirates against an Arsenal team that is playing well after falling behind 1-0 and giving up 10 goals in our last two away games.
However, the response was fantastic—to be honest, it was unthinkable. We continued to play ahead without losing any of our courage or our faith. Coming back twice was, in my opinion, a really well-deserved draw.
