Fans are furious and lash out at TNT Sports commentary after Harry Maguire’s goal during Man Utd comeback vs Lyon

Following the broadcast of the commentary for Harry Maguire’s dramatic winning goal for Manchester United in the Europa League, fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with TNT Sports.

In what was without a doubt one of the most exciting meetings of European football in recent times, Manchester United secured their spot in the semifinals of the Europa League by defeating Lyon by a score of 5-4 on Thursday.

It all came down to the match at Old Trafford, which saw two goals scored by each club during regular time, a red card for Lyon, another two goals scored by the visitors during extra time, and three thrilling goals scored by United to ensure that they won the game. The first leg of the match took place in France and ended with a score of 2-2.

Maguire scored a goal for United in the 120th minute of the match, which resulted in a significant response from Rio Ferdinand and Robbie Savafe, which has caused spectators to become enraged. Maguire was the unexpected hero for United in the match.

After a goal scored by Lyon star Rayan Cherki and a penalty kick taken by former Arsenal striker Alexander Lacazette placed the home team two goals behind, United seemed to be utterly deflated in the second half of the halftime break.

The Red Devils scored three goals in the span of six minutes, which caused Ferdinand and Savage to go absolutely bonkers as they were doing commentary. However, these sentiments swiftly transformed into pure happiness.

After yelling and applauding Maguire’s victory, Ferdinand made the following statement: “No other sport that I am familiar with does this.” It is impossible for them to take you as high as a kite or as low as the belly of a snake.

The former United defender was then promptly advised by his colleague Darren Fletcher to calm down and compose himself in order to guide viewers through the goal. However, all Ferdinand could produce was the phrase “what a header,” which left some supporters feeling disgruntled.

On social media, a fan expressed their reaction to the event by writing, “Would have enjoyed it a lot more if you weren’t feeding through the MUTV commentary.” in response to the incident.

Another individual commented, “It was a wonderful moment, but the commentary was some of the worst I’ve ever heard.” Both Ferdinand and Savage are yelling at each other. What some of the greatest players of all time, such as Brian Moore, would think of it is something I would loathe to think about.

A single individual asked: “If anyone, anywhere in your organisation with any semblance of influence – please never employ Robbie Savage and Rio Ferdinand as co commentators ever, ever again.”

In addition, one letter particularly addressed Ferdinand, asking, “Is it possible for someone to prohibit Rio from ever again providing commentary?”

Following a 2-0 victory at home over Rangers and a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the match in Glasgow, United will play Athletic Club in the semi-finals of the competition when they face Athletic Club.

On the first of May, the first leg of the match will be played, and the second leg will take place one week after the first.
