Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool In Talks With Newcastle Over ‘Record’ Isak Deal

Fabrizio Romano claims that Liverpool and Newcastle United are currently debating making a record bid for Alexander Isak.

Since joining Newcastle, Isak has emerged as one of the top strikers in the world of football, and clubs all over Europe have been vying for his services. Given Newcastle’s forward-thinking approach and their understandable desire to hang onto a player of his caliber, it has proven to be a challenging challenge thus far.

After making inroads in other areas throughout the transfer season, Liverpool is looking to add a new center-forward this summer. Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, and Jeremie Frimpong have all moved in, but because Darwin Nunez hasn’t lived up to the hype, a new striker might be on the horizon.

Romano just revealed on X that Liverpool has begun club-to-club talks on a record bid for Newcastle striker Isak. Liverpool has started negotiations to attempt to entice Isak away from St. James’ Park, but the Magpies are unwilling to let him go and hope to offer him a new deal.

“EXCL: Liverpool approached Newcastle club-to-club to discuss their record-breaking offer for Alexander Isak. If Isak is unavailable, Liverpool may enter the race for Ekitike. Newcastle made the decision because they never wanted to sell Isak and instead wanted to offer a new contract.

Romano has verified on his YouTube channel that Liverpool has directly approached the Swedish striker in an attempt to finalize a historic trade. It seems that Liverpool is currently attempting to make Isak the most costly recruit in British history, as reported by GIVEMESPORT sources back in June.

David Ornstein has since asserted that Liverpool would be interested in a £120 million deal.
