Every Manchester United Player’s Wage [2025]

Manchester United has received a lot of criticism over the years for wasting money on players who aren’t good enough. For the most period, the club has struggled to regain the form that they demonstrated under Sir Alex Ferguson, and they have frequently found themselves vying for a spot in the top four rather than a league title.

After a strong first season in command, Erik ten Hag appeared to be the guy to lead the team back to the top of the Premier League. He spent a lot of money in the summer and has made significant investments in the present squad. However, after a season that fell far short of expectations, the new-look leadership gave the Dutchman one final chance before handing him his P45 following a 2-1 loss to West Ham.

Ruben Amorim, 40, has now taken over the Old Trafford dugout, and despite the club’s troubles, some of its players are paid quite well. Let’s take a deeper look at how much everyone on the Red Devils’ roster is presently making (with the majority of the data from Capology).

Goalkeepers

Replacing David de Gea was a difficult order, but Andre Onana was chosen for the position after previously working closely with Ten Hag at Ajax. The two had already achieved great success together, so it wasn’t surprise that he came to Old Trafford on a decent salary. So far in England, the Cameroonian has been unconvincing, making a string of disastrous mistakes.

Onana currently makes £120,000 per week, but he is under greater pressure with the signing of highly-rated Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who is thought to be paid roughly £45,000 per week, according to Salary Leaks. Meanwhile, Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir make at least £75,000 less than the Red Devils’ under-fire No.1.

Defenders

When Raphael Varane’s contract expired, Manchester United’s defensive unit wage bill increased significantly. Despite earning less than the aforementioned Frenchman, Matthijs De Ligt would be the one to grab that slot in the weekly expenditure, with the Dutchman earning just shy of £200,000 per week since joining from Bayern Munich.

Harry Maguire, one of the longest-serving players, is regarded as one of the best backline possibilities, earning £190,000 per week, while Luke Shaw, who is sometimes injured, receives a handsome £150,000.

Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez follow closely behind the left-back, earning £135,000 and £120,000 per week, respectively. Leny Yoro arrived to much fanfare from the Old Trafford supporters, and despite his injury problems, there are high expectations for the £115,000-per-week star. Diogo Dalot makes £85,000 per week, while overlooked full-back Tyrrell Malacia receives £75,000 every seven days.

Patrick Dorgu, who joined the club in the winter transfer window, earns £40,000 a week. Ayden Heaven gets little under £4,000 per week, while teenager Tyler Fredricson is one of the club’s lowest earnings at £5,000 per week.

Midfielders

Manchester United’s financial hardship, which they are striving to alleviate under new ownership, is most visible in the midfield. Casemiro is the Red Devils’ highest earner, making an eye-watering £350,000 every week.

Bruno Fernandes is arguably the only player in Manchester United’s midfield plan who has actually earned a weekly salary of more than £100,000 over the last 12 to 18 months. For the second consecutive season, he was the Premier League’s top creator, creating 114 opportunities for his teammates. With a salary of £300,000, you would expect him to.

Meanwhile, Mason Mount, who played just 17 Premier League games and scored once last season, is the third-highest-paid midfielder with a weekly salary of £250,000. He’s had a string of ailments since joining the club, making his salary even more difficult to justify.

Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo, one of the Premier League’s greatest young players, earns only £20,000 per week, according to The Athletic. There have been reports that the England international wants up to ten times that much to stay at Old Trafford for the long term.

Forwards

Matheus Cunha, who joined the club in a £62.5 million transfer from Wolves this summer, now earns £180,000 per week. Bryan Mbeumo joined the Brazilian at Old Trafford this summer and is believed to earn £150,000 per week. While the club’s new centre-forward, Benjamin Sesko, is reportedly earning £160,000 each week.

Following a spectacular start to the 2024/25 season, Amad Diallo was awarded a new five-and-a-half-year contract earning £120,000 per week.

Joshua Zirkzee was signed last summer to try to turn the trend of signing underperforming forwards on its head. Struggling to adjust to the hustle and bustle of football in England’s top tier, he is paid £105,000 per week – £20,000 more than the previous summer’s blockbuster signing, Rasmus Hojlund, who was paid £85,000 before joining Napoli.

Alejandro Garnacho and Antony have been removed off the club’s pay sheet, while Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Hojlund are on loan.
