Everton Fan Given Lifetime Ban at New Stadium Following Test Event Behaviour

Before the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium has even opened, Everton has banned one of its supporters for life for his actions during a recent test match. After 132 years of residing at Goodison Park, the Toffees are scheduled to depart at the end of this season.

Shortly after the stadium was constructed, in 1892, the Premier League team moved into Goodison Park, where they have stayed ever since. However, it was announced in the 2010s that they will be moving to a brand-new stadium in the Bramley-Moore Dock. After the club left, it was originally intended that Goodison Park would be demolished, but that is no longer the case.

The opening of a brand-new, cutting-edge stadium is an exciting new endeavour for Everton and portends a bright future for David Moyes’ team. However, one fan will not be able to witness it all firsthand after he was given a lifetime ban and had his club membership revoked due to his actions during a test match. The Toffees have even published a statement.

Everton Fan Banned For Stealing Food at New Stadium

He filled himself committing the act

One fan chose to try his luck during a test event at Everton’s new stadium and proceeded to eat some food while there. Furthermore, he recorded himself performing the deed, and the video quickly went viral on social media. When the waitress turned to make him a coffee after a 62-year-old man had placed an order at one of the stands at the Bramley-Moore Dock event, the guy was heard shouting, “Adios, amigo.” “Well, the first man to formally do a Toby [slang for stealing] at Bramley-Moore Dock,” he said, before taking his £12.50 worth of chicken strips.

Since then, Everton has stated that the fan’s membership with the team has been cancelled and that he has been banned from the stadium for life before it has even opened. Ten thousand Everton supporters were allowed to witness the team face Wigan in an under-18 friendly at the stadium’s first trial event, which is when the footage was taken.

Following the incident, the club issued a statement in which they quoted the Daily Mail:

“A 62-year-old man from the Rainhill neighbourhood was found to be the culprit after inquiry into a social media video that displayed obvious food theft during the first test event at Everton Stadium (February 17, 2025). An out-of-court disposition was used to deal with the individual after the incident was referred to Merseyside Police. He has committed to giving Everton in the Community a donation equal to the £12.75, the cost of the stolen goods, as part of this resolution.

“The individual has also been given an indefinite ban from Everton Football Club and his seasonal membership has been revoked, in accordance with the Club’s zero-tolerance policy towards such behaviour. The Club will keep collaborating with local government representatives and event coordinators to guarantee that every guest at Everton Stadium can experience a friendly, courteous, and safe atmosphere.”
