England star who Thomas Tuchel branded ‘unprofessional’ reveals brutal comment new boss made in first training session

An England player who Thomas Tuchel referred to in a playful manner as “unprofessional” has divulged the harsh remark that the new manager made during the first training session that they took part in together.

Tuchel will be in charge of his first game as England manager on Friday, when the Three Lions play Albania at Wembley Stadium in a World Cup qualifying match.

He took over for Gareth Southgate, who had resigned from his position after the conclusion of the Euro 2024 tournament.

In addition, prior to taking over as England’s manager, he made a snide remark about his predecessor during an interview that took place before the match.

The England team that will compete in the World Cup qualifiers has been named by Tuchel, and Newcastle United defender Dan Burn has been given an unexpected call-up to the squad.

After scoring in his team’s Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool the previous weekend, Burn sat down with fellow uncapped star Myles Lewis-Skelly and Declan Rice of Arsenal to record a video for England’s official YouTube channel. Burn was one of the players who contributed to the video.

In a conversation with Lewis-Skelly and Rice, Burn divulged the cruel remark that Tuchel had made during a private conversation.

When he was so calm, it was much simpler to deal with. His first statement was, “Everything I’ve had up to this point has been pretty good.”

This was followed by Burn recalling his conversation with Tuchel that took place after a training session.

I was in the lift with him the day before, after we had finished our workout… “I remember watching training and thinking, ‘wow that is sharp,'” he said before revealing what Tuchel had said to him. “It was extremely impressive.” “He asked me, ‘How was your training going? Yes, it’s a good thing; however, you should be careful not to compromise the quality too much.

Rice continued, “I love that!” while Lewis-Skelly erupted in fits of laughter.

“He’s got a point to be fair… just makes him more relaxed,” Burn joked. “I want to be fair.”

In addition, Burn disclosed that he had jokingly apologised to Tuchel for answering a phone call after 10 o’clock at night during a press conference that took place on Tuesday.

“The manager FaceTimed us on Tuesday and said that they were debating calling us (me) up and that they would let us know on Thursday in the event that they decided to call us up,” he said.

“At that point, it was six o’clock on Thursday night, and I had not heard anything. I told my wife that nothing was going to happen because I had not heard anything.

I received a text message at ten o’clock asking, “Are you still awake?” Almost immediately, I responded with a yes.

“To begin, he expressed his displeasure with my lack of professionalism by stating that I had not been in bed by ten o’clock, and I apologised for that.”

In preparation for the possibility of making his debut for England, Burn has participated in 36 matches across all competitions for Newcastle at this point in the season.
