The prolific striker, who is currently serving with England on international duty, has discussed his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or and compared himself to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to the striker who established the record, “sometimes when you’re playing in these types of teams where you’re getting loads of chances, when you’re expected to score 30, 40 a season, that’s an expectation I like to have.”
Comparisons to the time when Ronaldo and Messi were playing
For almost twenty years, Ronaldo and Messi were the most dominant players in European football. They were not only the most successful players in terms of winning trophies, but they also had extraordinary statistics including goals and assists. In light of the fact that both of these legends were under constant pressure, Kane drew a parallel between their circumstances and their own.
“It’s like when Ronaldo and Messi were throwing these crazy numbers out there, and the next season they’d score 40 goals instead of 50, and it was like they were having a bad season,” Kane explained. “It’s like they were having a bad season.” People tend to take it for granted, and a little bit of the same can be said about England as well.
