Diogo Jota, a Liverpool forward, died in a car crash on Thursday.
Diogo Jota’s final social media post has surfaced in the aftermath of his untimely death.
According to reports in both Spain and Portugal, Liverpool star Jota was killed in a car accident early Thursday morning.
According to zamora24horas, the 28-year-old and his brother and another footballer, Andre, were engaged in a deadly accident in Zamora, northwest Spain.
According to reports, the Traffic Civil Guard, the Fire Brigade of the Provincial Council of Zamora, and the Emergency Coordination Centre (CCU) of Health Emergencies were summoned to the scene.
A Medical Emergency Unit (UME) and Primary Care Medical Staff (MAP) from Mombuey Health Centre were dispatched.
A statement read: “The 1-1-2 Castilla y León operations room got many reports reporting a vehicle accident near Km. 65 of the A-52, in the municipality of Cernadilla, Zamora. A car was claimed to have been involved in a collision, with the vehicle on fire. 1-1-2 notified the Zamora Traffic Police, or Zamo.
Jota died just weeks after his wedding.
He married Rute Cardoso last month, after being in a relationship with her since 2012.
She is the mother of their three children.
Jota proposed to Rute in July 2022, and the couple married on June 22, 2025.

They both used Instagram to celebrate their special day by cooperating on a post.
The video of their wedding with the caption: “A day we will never forget.”
Jota joins Liverpool from Wolves in summer 2020.
He scored 65 goals in 182 games for Liverpool, helping the club win the Premier League title last season.
The Portuguese has also won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and two Nations League titles with his national squad.
