Declan Rice ‘makes feelings clear’ on Arsenal signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea ahead of £52m transfer

The star of Arsenal has responded to the unexpected arrival of his new comrade.

Declan Rice, a standout for Arsenal, seems to have expressed his thoughts on the team’s unexpected acquisition of Noni Madueke from Chelsea.

According to sources, Arsenal was getting ready to make its fourth move of the summer, this time for Madueke, only days after announcing the signing of erstwhile Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi in a deal worth about £60 million.

Following fellow Blues teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga’s £5 million departure from Chelsea earlier in this transfer window, the 23-year-old England international is expected to become the tenth player to join Arsenal from Chelsea.

Fans have reacted negatively to the news, with some even joining a petition opposing the purchase of Madueke, who is reportedly expected to cost Arsenal slightly over £50 million.

Furthermore, it seems that one of Madueke’s potential teammates at Arsenal has spoken his thoughts about the transfer.

Fabrizio Romano, a transfer analyst, has been keeping a close eye on Madueke’s possible move to London as usual, posting frequent updates on his social media accounts.

As the anticipated ‘Here We Go’ post is scheduled on Thursday morning, it seems like Arsenal will eventually confirm the deal, and Rice seems to be pleased about it.

Rice appears among the accounts that liked Romano’s first Here We Go Instagram post and his subsequent video revealing the £50 million+ deal, indicating that he has been closely monitoring the situation and is thrilled about the news.

Given that he has already shared the field with Madueke several times while playing for England, Rice’s excitement over the move is not surprising.

Madueke and Rice have appeared together in five Nations League and World Cup qualifying matches during their international careers, all of which took place in the 2024–2025 season.

In addition to sharing pictures of themselves together on social media throughout these games, Rice also left a compliment on Madueke’s post following the game versus Andorra.

In the meanwhile, the two have faced off four times as opponents; three of those encounters have ended in draws, and the other was a 5-0 victory for the Gunners during the 2023–24 Premier League season.
