David Ornstein names England international linked to stunning summer move to Aston Villa

It has been reported that Aston Villa is in talks to sign an England international in the summer.

After qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in the team’s history, Unai Emery plans to bolster his roster this summer.

Aston Villa has reportedly initiated preliminary negotiations with Chelsea regarding a deal for England star Conor Gallagher, and the boss is reportedly a “huge admirer” of the midfielder.

As he approaches the last 12 months of his Stamford Bridge contract, Gallagher is purportedly Unai Emery’s primary target.

Gallagher’s management is reportedly in contact with Villa as well, as the team looks into a possible transfer in light of the 24-year-old’s steady play for Chelsea last season.

The two teams are said to have a good working connection; the Villa administration was contacted by the Blues when they signed Carney Chukwuemeka in 2022.

Villa’s 20-year-old attacker Jhon Duran is allegedly still a target for Chelsea.

The Colombian international is reportedly one of the contenders to bolster Chelsea’s assault this summer, having been linked to the club in January. It has also been stated that clubs in Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Spain have made inquiries about the youngster.

Although it seemed as though Gallagher might be sold this summer, the player praised the team for hiring Enzo Maresca as manager.

“[The appointment] is really exciting,” he stated in an interview with Sky Sports.

“I’ve seen and heard wonderful things. Everyone at Chelsea, including myself, is incredibly eager to collaborate with him.

“We want Chelsea to return to their rightful place so that we, under the new manager, can move forward and do the same.”

“To join Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, is a dream for any coach,” Maresca stated after accepting a five-year contract to become Chelsea’s head coach. That is the reason this possibility excites me so much.

“I am excited to collaborate with an exceptionally skilled team of players and staff to create a squad that upholds the club’s successful history and inspires pride in our supporters.”
