David Ornstein: Man Utd Agree Loan to Buy Deal With Barcelona for Rashford

David Ornstein claims that Manchester United and Barcelona have reached an agreement for Marcus Rashford.

Following a public altercation with manager Ruben Amorim that resulted in his loan to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024–2025 season, the 27-year-old forward has been strongly linked to a move away from Old Trafford over the past eight months.

However, the player will not be joining Villa permanently, and a move to Barcelona is currently in the works after he was instructed to train apart from the first team group throughout preseason in order to sort out his future.

Man Utd and Barcelona agree a deal for Rashford; the Spanish team is proposing a loan with a buyout option.

Since it became apparent that he had no future with his boyhood club, Rashford has been advocating for a move to Barcelona, and the Spanish team has now made their move.

Despite their desire for a long-term agreement, Man Utd accepted the La Liga champions’ offer of an initial loan deal with the potential to extend it to a permanent one next summer. Although a transaction has not yet been finalized, negotiations between all sides are nearing their conclusion, with Barcelona manager Hansi Flick having approved the transfer.

It is anticipated that the England international will finalize a transfer to the Catalan powerhouses in the upcoming weeks after an offer was made through middlemen.

Luis Diaz and Nico Williams proved to be too costly for Barcelona, who had been eager to add a new winger this summer. As a result, they have made a move for Rashford their first priority.

Rashford, however, is a very desirable option on the wing after Man Utd accepted a loan agreement, and the player has reportedly been prepared to put in a lot of effort to finalize the move from his team.

How the teams will split Rashford’s £375,000 weekly salary is still up in the air, but a deal is moving forward and he is getting closer to leaving Manchester United.
