Darwin Nunez ‘to leave’ Liverpool in blockbuster deal as huge fee ‘agreed’ with shock club that will see another player axed

There have been rumours about Darwin Nunez leaving Liverpool.

Darwin Nunez, a star for Liverpool, has received a significant update regarding his future from Fabrizio Romano.

Nunez’s future has been a major topic of discussion ever since the 24/25 season ended.

The 26-year-old has been connected to teams including Al Nassr, AC Milan, Napoli, and Atletico Madrid this summer.

Liverpool’s asking price, which is allegedly about €70 million (£61 million), has prevented a move from happening thus far.

Nunez appears to be getting closer to leaving the Anfield club, though.

The Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal has made Nunez their first priority and is nearing completion of the deal, according to transfer expert Romano.

“EXCLUSIVE: Al Hilal are close to getting Darwin Nunez deal done after verbal agreement in place with Liverpool,” he said on social media.

“The club-to-club agreement has been completed, and Darwin and Al Hilal are negotiating personal conditions. Nunez will make the decision, although negotiations are in progress, and Inzaghi wants him.

TalkSPORT claims that as financials are “not thought to be an issue,” Al Hilal may be able to match Liverpool’s asking price of €70 million (£61 million).

Furthermore, it has been hinted that if Nunez joins, current Al Hilal star Aleksandar Mitrovic would depart the team.

In the summer of 2022, Nunez made his Liverpool debut in a club record £85 million deal.

The Uruguayan, however, has frequently been chastised for wasting significant opportunities and has generally failed to live up to his high price tag.

Nunez has scored 40 goals for the Reds overall in 143 games across all competitions.

In the first of their friendly doubleheader on Monday, Arne Slot’s team defeated Athletic Bilbao 4-1, with Nunez scoring what might have been his last goal for Liverpool.

Liverpool won the second meeting between the two teams, 3-2.

Alexander Isak, a talisman for Newcastle United who has been strongly linked to the Premier League winners, may be easier for Liverpool to sign as a result of the upcoming Nunez deal.

Benjamin Sesko, the Magpies’ apparent top target, seems to be favouring a move to Manchester United, which has once again complicated their ongoing hunt for a new striker.

The Red Devils reportedly submitted a proposal of €75 million for the Slovenian on Tuesday, plus an additional €10 million in add-ons.

Newcastle has been connected to players like Ollie Watkins, Nicolas Jackson, and Yoane Wissa, but Sesko appears to be off the wants list.
