Ahead of the Merseyside derby, Darwin Nunez has shocked Liverpool supporters with a striking new appearance.
Due to two World Cup qualifying matches for his country, Nunez has been abroad with Uruguay during this month’s international break.
Uruguay played out a goalless draw against Bolivia after suffering a crushing 1-0 loss to Argentina.
Nunez was a second-half substitute in Bolivia and started his nation’s match versus Argentina.
Uruguay is still in a solid position to secure their place at the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, even though they have only gained one point in their two World Cup qualifying matches.
The 25-year-old will return to Liverpool to continue his team’s incredible Premier League campaign after completing his international obligations.
Liverpool will play cross-town rivals Everton on April 2 after dropping their last two games against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final.
Nunez has stunned Liverpool supporters by revealing a new hairstyle ahead of perhaps playing for his club team.
People started commenting on social media when Nunez posted pictures of his cornrows.
A user on X posted: “Preparing for the Premier League pictures that will hit haters hard.”
Another jokingly said, “More trims than goals.”
The third person said, “Let him cook.”
Nunez has been criticised for his lack of creativity in front of goal this season, and this summer, he was connected to a spectacular transfer away from Anfield.
After scoring 18 goals the previous season, he has only scored seven goals in all competitions.
However, the forward has occasionally performed well this season. In January, he gave Liverpool a decisive victory over Brentford with two goals in stoppage time.
Nunez, however, blew a great opportunity against Aston Villa, which resulted in a 2-2 draw.
“I can accept every miss, especially from a player that scored two very important goals against Brentford,” Arne Slot stated.
“His actions following that opportunity were a little more difficult for me to accept. He wasn’t the typical Darwin who puts in a lot of effort and supports the squad; I believe it was too much on his mind. I believe he was too let down.
