Crystal Palace ‘open door’ to Arsenal swap deal for Eberechi Eze

Throughout the summer, Eze has been connected to a move out of Selhurst Park.

It’s possible that an Arsenal player might be used as “make weight” to push through a trade for Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace.

Throughout the summer, north London rivals Arsenal and Spurs have shown interest in Eze, who is 27.

Two days before the Eagles’ Premier League debut against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, the Crystal Palace player’s £68 million buyout clause expired on Friday, according to The Standard.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the situation in his GiveMeSport newsletter on Friday as well.

“Eze is definitely interested in joining the Spurs,” Romano stated. “The two clubs are still in direct negotiations, and the deal is now up to them.”

The playmaker is under contract with Palace until the summer of 2028, and the Gunners are still in the running to sign him. They may even be willing to utilize one of their own players in a possible trade, which would also come at a cost.

According to Caught Offside, Serie A powerhouse AC Milan and a number of Premier League teams, including Everton, Wolves, and Crystal Palace, are interested in Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior.

Given that captain Marc Guehi is still being linked to Liverpool, the Eagles may want to bolster their defense.

The Gunners may be able to get a possible trade involving Eze past the finish line by using Kiwior as part of a player-plus-cash deal.

But according to the source, Arsenal is willing to extend the Polish defender’s contract in order to retain him because head coach Mikel Arteta views him as a valuable asset and a versatile player.

The Gunners manager referred to Kiwior as “exceptional” prior to Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain in May after he replaced the injured Gabriel in the latter part of the previous campaign.

Since he hasn’t played much for several months, he [Kiwior] deserves a lot of credit, Arteta stated. “Suddenly, he has been thrown into the most difficult context.”

“I think he’s been exceptional, playing against the best opponents at the highest level when you haven’t had the physical rhythm or the confidence to do it.”

Crystal Palace “identifies” the successor for Ebe Eze.
David Ornstein of The Athletic said on Saturday that Palace had “approached” Leicester City to discuss a possible transfer for Bilal El Khannouss, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder.

After making 37 appearances for the Foxes during their 2024–25 relegation campaign, the Moroccan, who joined Leicester from Belgian team Genk last summer, is being considered by a number of teams, including Palace. El Khannouss might be used to cover the possible gap left by the England international’s probable departure, though a trade might rely on Eze’s circumstances.
