After being called up by Amorim last week to replace Hujlund, the striker from the Manchester United Academy has signed his first professional contract with the club. This comes as the striker is scheduled to make his debut against Tottenham this week. Fans of Manchester United, congratulations!

Fabrizio Romano wrote in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter that youngster Chido Obi-Martin could be a part of Manchester United’s attack in the second half of the season. Although Manchester United fans may have been dismayed by their January transfer window, which saw two attackers leave the club in the form of Marcus Rashford and Antony, there is still a possibility that they will experience some joy in their attacking ranks.

Having fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim in the first few weeks of his tenure, Rashford left United on Sunday evening for a loan move to Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Antony’s underwhelming spell at Old Trafford has been saved by a temporary switch to La Liga side Real Betis. Rashford’s departure from United was announced shortly after the sun went down. Despite the fact that it has been beneficial to the two players in terms of game time, it has resulted in gaps in the squad. As a result, Obi-Martin, who only joined the team in the summer, may be able to fill those gaps and earn some significant first-team opportunities.

“No Surprise” says Romano if Obi-Martin is selected for the first team. As of Right NowIt’s possible that the summer signing will be announced sooner than initially anticipated.

After being linked with a move to the north-west during the summer, Obi-Martin made the move from Arsenal to Manchester United. Since his arrival in early October, the young Dane has already made a strong start for United’s youth teams, scoring nine goals in seven starts.

At the age of just 17, the former Gunners player was regarded as a real coup at the youth level. This was especially true given that he had scored 32 goals in just 21 games for their under-18 setup. His high potential is well known throughout the youth ranks.

In spite of the fact that Romano acknowledged that the club considers him to be a part of their future plans, he asserted that he would not be “surprised” if he were to be given the opportunity to join the first-team until the end of the season. This is because of the noise that has been generated regarding his potential abilities.

Romano made the following statement in his transfer newsletter for GIVEMESPORT website:

Chido has always been considered a potential member of the first team by Manchester United, and as a result, I would not be surprised if he were to be given the opportunity to join the first team between now and the end of the season. Nothing, however, can be confirmed at this point in time.

The undeniable potential that Obi-Martin possesses has been recognised throughout his entire career. Even though he was only 14 years old when he joined Arsenal in 2022 from Danish side KB, he managed to score 32 goals and provide three assists in just 18 starts. This was sufficient to entice United to convince him to join the club on a permanent basis.

Previous reports have stated that Amorim has included Obi-Martin in his training sessions on days after the first-team has played. This means that he has already gained experience working with the club’s stars, which may prove to be extremely beneficial from now until the end of the season.

There are some similarities between Obi-Martin and Marcus Rashford. At Old Trafford, it is possible that he will be the one to make a momentous entrance.

Being primed as a striker, Obi-Martin shares similarities with Rashford in terms of his physique, build, and talents. As a result, the young Danish star has the potential to garner first-team minutes in his position going forward. As things stand, Alejandro Garnacho is the only player who is able to play off the left side.
