Cole Palmer posts pointed one-word comment after hearing Chelsea’s decision on Enzo Maresca’s future

According to reports, Chelsea has announced their choice about the future of Enzo Maresca, who is now facing criticism as manager. Cole Palmer, a star player for the Blues, has responded to the news on social media.

According to a story that was published by The Sun on Monday, Maresca will continue to serve as the manager of Chelsea despite the club’s recent poor performance in the Premier League and the possibility that they would not be able to participate in the Champions League the next season.

Palmer, a midfielder for England, has given a peculiar reply on his Instagram stories. Palmer’s personal poor performances have coincided with Chelsea’s decline, which occurred after both the player and the club unexpectedly failed to meet expectations at the beginning of the season.

Palmer’s post includes a video of one of his numerous goals for Chelsea, which is embedded within the post. The phrase “Enjoyment” is written above the video, and an emoji that looks joyful and contented is also included.

The celebration of better times that Palmer is having, however, is not as straightforward as it may appear at first glance.

Palmer has scored 36 goals for Chelsea in the Premier League, with 14 of those goals coming under Maresca’s direction this season.

On the other hand, the video that he uploaded shows him scoring a goal in a 6-0 victory over Everton in April of last year. This incident occurred many months before the former manager of Leicester City took over at Stamford Bridge.

According to Palmer, who scored four goals against the Toffees, it was posted by Chelsea on the first anniversary of the amazing triumph, and it was shared on Stories by Palmer.

Following a lovely curling opening with a close-range header and a lob from distance after intercepting a bad clearance from Everton goalkeeper and England teammate Jordan Pickford, Palmer scored a fantastic hat-trick in only half an hour. His hat-trick included a lob from a distance and a header from close range.

He scored his fourth goal of the evening from the penalty spot as the Blues cruised to win under the direction of Mauricio Pochettino. The former Manchester City prospect scored his goal.

Maresca’s first season at Chelsea appeared to be shaping up to be a substantial improvement over the previous season, in which Chelsea ended in sixth place.

In spite of the fact that fifth place now guarantees a position in the Champions League, the Blues continued to struggle after getting off to a strong start and are currently in sixth place. This would be a significant step towards a return to respectability for one of the most turbulent clubs in the top division.

There is no longer any purple spot on Palmer’s body.
“Maresca’s dedication to his job and unflinching commitment to the cause mean the Stamford Bridge top brass remain convinced he is still the right man for the job,” according to the newspaper The Sun.

“There is no desire for another change of coach even though results have taken a tumble.”

Palmer’s outstanding individual performance was the foundation upon which Chelsea’s seeming comeback was constructed. This was despite the fact that other significant players, such as Nicolas Jackson, had also shown improved performance in the first half of the 2024-25 season.

An additional four-goal haul was even accomplished by the 22-year-old player, this time in a manner that was even more rapid against Brighton in September.

Palmer, however, has already participated in ten Premier League matches without scoring the fifteenth goal, after having scored fourteen goals before the middle of January 2018.

The match between Chelsea and Ipswich Town ended in a 2-2 draw on Sunday. Chelsea will be looking to bounce back to winning ways against Fulham, who are their local rivals, following their Conference League quarter-final second leg against Legia Warsaw taking place on Thursday.
