Sheffield United re-appointed Chris Wilder as manager in September, barely months after his dismissal, and he’s been working hard to reverse the disastrous start to the season that Ruben Selles had.
The 58-year-old led the Blades to the play-off final last season, where they were defeated 2-1 by Sunderland at Wembley Stadium.
This was his penultimate game in command before being replaced by Selles, however the Spaniard lasted only five league games until Wilder took over.
This is the experienced coach’s third tenure at Bramall Lane, having previously led the club to Premier League promotion in 2019 and a ninth-place finish in the top level.
However, the Yorkshire club’s focus is now on reducing the gap on the play-off spots, however a great run of form will be required to return to the top six for the second season in a row.
Sheffield United’s new owners COH Sports have faced a lot of criticism for their treatment of the club in the last year, but they have began to correct their faults, beginning with Wilder’s return as manager a few months back.
Chris Wilder replies to a potential Billy Sharp reunion at Sheffield United.

When addressing supporters on the fanzone platform earlier this week, co-owner Steven Rosen hinted at Billy Sharp’s potential return to Sheffield United.
Wilder has replied positively to the proposal that the forward return to Bramall Lane, stating that it would be great to see a former player on the coaching staff.
“I’m a fan of ex-players being around the football club,” Wilder told The Star.
“Whether they work full-time in the academy or on match days.
“TC [Tony Currie] gliding through the paces is wonderful. I grabbed a pint with Bradders [Carl Bradshaw] and Wayne Quinn on Sunday. Jamie Hoyland, United’s chief scout, is here, and Mitch Ward is also present.
“I get calls and texts all the time from former players Paul Beesley, Tony Agana, and Alan Kelly. And I’ll have missed a lot of others. They adore the football club.
“Sharpy attended the game on Sunday, which was terrific for everyone. Bashy [Christopher Basham], Paul Coutts, and Mark Duffy. All of them enjoyed their time here, and I believe it’s critical that we surround our football club with famous players.”

Should Billy Sharp begin his post-playing career as a Sheffield United coach? Please let us know in the comments.
Wilder emphasized the importance of having people who know the club well from their time as players, which can only benefit the team now playing at Bramall Lane.
“I understand, from speaking to Bill, that he’ll want to stay in the game,” Wilder told reporters.
“I’m confident he still has a lot to offer [as a player], and he will have a lot to contribute in the future.
“His career has been fantastic, and this is undoubtedly one of the most difficult positions to play. So any future work he does or counsel he gives will be of the highest caliber.”
Sheffield United are currently 16th in the Championship, having lost 2-1 at Coventry City on Wednesday night, widening their gap to the play-off places.
Wilder’s team will attempt to put that loss behind them when they meet QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Billy Sharp’s return to Bramall Lane as a coach would be a wonderful homecoming.

Sharp is a Sheffield United legend, having played a major role in the club’s journey from League One to the Premier League under Wilder, so fans will undoubtedly be delighted to see him back at Bramall Lane and the training complex.
He scored in three different categories for the Yorkshire club, including six times in the top flight, and was an important part of their journey.
While he is still competing at the age of 40 with Doncaster Rovers, he must be considering his future profession after his playing days are finished.
A return to Sheffield United to begin a career as a coach would make a lot of sense, especially if Wilder is still in charge by then considering their previous work together.
