Chris Davies said that Birmingham City are closing in on their first January signing and expect to have him available for Coventry.

Birmingham City want to seal the acquisition of German left-back Kai Wagner before their encounter against Coventry City on Sunday.
The Blues are in the process of concluding a deal with MLS club Philadelphia Union to make Wagner their first acquisition of the January transfer season.
Chris Davies has been looking for a new left-back to compete with Alex Cochrane, and Wagner has the credentials.
The 28-year-old was nominated to the 2025 MLS Team of the Season, joining Inter Miami icon Lionel Messi.
Davies is normally secretive about incomings, but following his team’s 3-0 defeat to Watford, the manager indicated that Wagner is close to joining the Blues.
When asked if Wagner could join before the Coventry match, Davies told BirminghamLive: “It’s a very thin likelihood.
“I’m not sure on the actual paperwork and everything else like that, and obviously their season finished some time ago so he hasn’t been playing, but officially that might be possible.”
