Chelsea has published an official statement.
Chelsea has suffered a devastating injury setback ahead of the 25–26 campaign.
Under Enzo Maresca’s leadership, the Blues had a respectable 24/25 season, winning both the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Leading the team back into the UEFA Champions League was another major goal Maresca accomplished.
Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap, Estevao, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, and Kendry Paez are among the players the Blues have added to their squad thus far this summer.
However, Chelsea has suffered a severe injury blow just as the domestic season is about to start next weekend.
Defender Levi Colwill had surgery after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury, it has been reported.
“Chelsea Football Club has released the following update regarding Levi Colwill,” the statement said.
Due to an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament, defendant Levi Colwill had successful surgery today. At the beginning of this week, the 22-year-old returned to Cobham for preseason play, but he regrettably suffered the injury during practice.

It went on: “Surgery was determined to be the necessary course of action based on medical evaluations.
“Levi will now begin his recovery and be supported by the club’s medical department at Cobham during his rehabilitation phase.”
Fabrizio Romano claims that Colwill will be out for much of the 25–26 season.
Colwill was instrumental in the 24/25 season, making 43 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring twice and providing two assists.
Colwill is now the second player from England to sustain a serious injury.
James Maddison, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, will also miss a significant portion of the upcoming season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the team stated Thursday morning.
During Spurs’ friendly match against Newcastle United in South Korea last week, the 28-year-old was carried off on a stretcher.
