Chelsea stunned as Aston Villa prepare to ‘fight’ Blues for Euro 2024 striker with bargain clause

Aston Villa are battling Chelsea for Maximilian Beier

Chelsea is now searching for a new striker, but according to recent sources, Aston Villa may sabotage their efforts to sign a gifted Bundesliga player.

Enzo Maresca is eager to give Nicolas Jackson some competition, as we have continuously reported, and he has a few targets on his shortlist.

Maximilian Beier of Hoffenheim, a center-forward who has been receiving great evaluations lately, is one player who has been frequently connected to the Blues.

This season, Beier made 33 appearances in the Bundesliga for Hoffenheim, scoring an outstanding 16 goals and providing three assists.

Due to his outstanding play, the 21-year-old was selected for Germany’s Euro 2024 team and played 25 minutes on Sunday against Switzerland.

The forward has been linked to both Manchester United and Liverpool, but Chelsea has recently demonstrated a stronger interest in him.

This occurs after they passed up on several striker targets, including well-known players like Serhou Guirassy, Benjamin Sesko, and Victor Osimhen.

Although Beier aligns with Chelsea’s strategy of acquiring young players with great potential, Aston Villa is making every effort to outbid the Blues for Beier’s services.

Aston Villa will compete with Chelsea to acquire a striker.
Christian Falk, a German transfer specialist, claims that Aston Villa is prepared to “fight” Chelsea for Beier this summer.

Although Unai Emery considers Ollie Watkins to be an essential element of his team, he would prefer to have additional options at striker in addition to the England international.

Both of the Premier League’s opponents have “collected information” on Beier recently, and his release clause has attracted them.

According to reports, Beier may be signed this summer for as little as €30 million (about £25.3 million), which is a significant deal for a young player with his potential.

In a recent interview, the forward fueled further suspicions about his future by stating, “We can chat after the Euros.”

It will be intriguing to watch if Beier receives a formal offer from Chelsea or Aston Villa, and if they are prepared to match his release clause.

Due to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations, both teams are being frugal with their expenditure. It remains to be seen if they will be able to spend an additional £25 million before filing their accounts on June 30th.

Aston Villa and Chelsea will need to act fast to complete a trade, though, since Beier is also being pursued by clubs throughout Europe.
