Chelsea brutally put nine names on transfer list after Club World Cup win including player who featured in final

Following their incredible success in the Club World Cup, Chelsea reportedly made nine players available for trade.

Despite having recently won the world championship, Chelsea is already trying to restructure their team in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

With the aid of new summer acquisitions Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, Chelsea shocked the favorites and won the FIFA Club World Cup in New York with a 3-0 thumping of Paris Saint-Germain. After a lengthy campaign that lasted 11 months in total, Enzo Maresca’s team now has less than a month until their first preseason friendly and new Premier League season.

Chelsea is hoping to capitalize on their Club World Cup win after securing Champions League football for the next season, but they also need to reduce their bloated roster. Noni Madueke will accompany Kepa Arrizabalaga to the Emirates, as he has already departed for Arsenal. After missing the Club World Cup, goalie Djordje Petrovic finalized his transfer to Bournemouth on Wednesday.

The Sun claims that up to nine additional players, including one who came off the bench in the Club World Cup final over the weekend, might depart before the transfer season shuts.

According to reports, Manchester United’s suspected target Christopher Nkunku is expected to depart, maybe making his final appearance during the team’s thrilling victory over PSG. The Frenchman, who made three tournament starts and scored one goal, is still for sale. Raheem Sterling and Joao Felix, who were both left at home this summer, are reportedly up for sale or loan. Benfica is reportedly interested in re-signing Felix, while Chelsea is asking £35 million for him.

Standard Sport reports that Rui Costa, the president of Benfica, stated, “We would all like it if we could bring back players from our academy who have the quality and prominence that a player like Joao has.” That is what every Benfica supporter would want. We must respect that portion because the sums involved in transfers and salaries are so substantial.

After spending time on loan during the previous season, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Armando Broja are reportedly also up for sale before the start of the new campaign. Additionally, Chelsea is open to bids even though Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is not currently on the transfer list.

In keeping with their high-spending strategy for another summer, Maresca’s team has also signed Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund ahead of the upcoming campaign.
