Charlton Athletic’s Championship match versus Portsmouth was abandoned on Saturday afternoon due to a medical incident in the crowd.

The game, which had only reached the 12th minute, was halted when paramedics responded to a fan in the Covered End. Referee Matthew Donohue eventually directed both sides off the field in the 19th minute.
After ten minutes of treatment, the supporter was removed from the stadium on a stretcher.
Charlton have battled for form since their last Championship triumph over West Brom last month, losing to Wrexham, Southampton, Stoke City, and Coventry.

Portsmouth, who were promoted back to the Championship in 2024, will also have to wait to finish the game. Both clubs are now awaiting a rescheduled date for the encounter.
