There are now just 16 clubs left in the new-look Champions League structure, with the 2024/25 season being the first of its sort, and the draw, held at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, has revealed which team everyone will meet in the Round of 16.
The clubs that finished in the top eight in the league phase, including as Liverpool, Barcelona, and Aston Villa, are now re-entering the competition and will face the teams that advanced through the knockout phase play-offs.
Real Madrid advanced to the next round after defeating Manchester City in a thrilling two-legged match thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick in the second leg. In other news, Paris Saint-Germain’s 10-0 aggregate victory over Stade Brestois stunned the rest of Europe’s elite clubs.
The first legs of the eight Last 16 matches will be contested on March 4 and 5, with the second legs taking place a week later on March 11 and 12. Who will Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal face? Who will face Atlético Madrid? Who has the enviable task of defeating Arne Slot’s men?
2024/25 Champions League Round of 16 Schedule
Aston Villa versus Club Brugge.
Borussia Dortmund versus Lille

Bayern Munich versus Bayer Leverkusen
PSV Eindhoven versus Arsenal

Unai Emery’s side will face Club Brugge, the Belgian team they faced in the league phase, but will be trying to avoid the same result, a 1-0 triumph for the latter. After defeating Pep Guardiola and his crew, Carlo Ancelotti will not face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
They are, of course, no strangers to one another given that they share the Spanish capital, while Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, the two dominant forces in the Bundesliga, will also face off in the Champions League Round of 16.
Arsenal will face PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League, while Liverpool, hoping for silverware in Slot’s first season in charge, will face a rampaging PSG, looking to win the league for the first time in their existence.
Benfica must contend with Barcelona, while Inter Milan’s 2022/23 finalists face Feneyoord, and Borussia Dortmund will face French club LOSC Lille in their next final two-legged duel.
