It appears like Celtic have finally agreed on a deal for Wilfried Nancy, and his first game as manager has been announced.
It appears that all of the impediments have been removed, and Celtic will soon appoint a new permanent manager. They had to wait a few weeks as Brendan Rodgers chose to depart in the middle of the season, leaving his team eight points behind Hearts. Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney have stabilized the ship and reduced the deficit. Now it is up to the French manager to take the baton.
Of course, bringing in Nancy is not a popular option. He has no experience managing in Europe, let alone at a team where he is expected to win every game he participates in.
However, before passing judgment on a manager’s capabilities, it is critical to allow them the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. And we are confident that most Celtic fans would do the same with Nancy, though the Frenchman will be under pressure to perform soon because the Hoops cannot afford to lose points in a title battle where they are currently lagging.
When will the appointment be made? According to Pete O’Rourke, Celtic has reached an agreement with Columbus Crew and Nancy to join the club. The Frenchman will be accompanied by his number two, Kwame Ampadu. His debut game in charge is planned for next Wednesday, December 3rd, at home against Dundee.

Any new appointment carries some risk. This is especially true when the manager lacks experience or demonstrated track record, as Nancy does in European football.
So Nancy needs to get off to a good start. Otherwise, everything would quickly go south.
Just consider Russell Martin’s 123-day run at Ibrox. You won’t have much time to do it perfect in Glasgow. So it’s critical to get out of the gate as quickly as possible.
