Bruno Fernandes offered transfer that Man Utd might be unable to reject as ‘secret meeting’ held

The Manchester United captain might depart the club during the last week of the transfer window.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes may be lured away from Old Trafford after getting an offer that is too good to refuse.

Despite losing the first game of the 2025/26 Premier League season to Arsenal, United fans have a lot to be thrilled about right now.

After finishing 15th in the table last season, their lowest result since the Premier League’s inception in 1992, their performance last weekend has fans confident that they will improve significantly this season.

Add to it the fact that manager Ruben Amorim has received support in the summer transfer window, resulting in the signings of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo, and things are looking better for United.

However, with only one week remaining in the window, things could take a turn for the worst for United, as the club is expected to receive an offer for Fernandes that will be impossible to refuse.

Fernandes has won Player of the Season four times since joining United in January 2020 for an initial sum of €55 million (£47 million), demonstrating his importance to the team.

Fernandes has contributed 184 goals or assists in 291 games for United, but this has not gone unnoticed by clubs around the world, according to a new claim from The Sun.

According to reports, Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad held a covert meeting with Fernandes and his representatives to negotiate a major move before the transfer market shuts on September 1.

The United captain has previously been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, most recently rejecting Al Hilal’s approaches in June.

However, it is estimated that a contract worth £33 million per year, or approximately £634,000 per week, would be sufficient to entice Fernandes away from United in the last days of the transfer season.

United is likely to seek a fee of at least £100 million, having reportedly set a six-figure valuation for the midfielder earlier this summer, which is seen to be easily achievable for Al Ittihad.

What has Bruno Fernandes said regarding his likely departure from Manchester United?
After allegations linking the United star to Al Hilal surfaced in June, Fernandes spoke out about leaving Old Trafford.

He said, “I’ve always been honest. I’ve always stated I’ll be here until the club tells me it’s time to depart.

“I’m ready to do more, to bring back the club’s glory days. Football is like this; you never know when the club thinks I’m too much or if it’s time to split ways.

“But I’ve always said that, and I keep my word the same.

“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is, and football sometimes is like this.”
