By signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, Ruben Amorim and the Manchester United executives have succeeded in their goal of making amends in the summer transfer window. Carlos Baleba has also been questioned, and the midfielder’s price has been disclosed.
David Ornstein has confirmed that an agreement has been reached in principle, while Benjamin Sesko appears to have also relocated to Old Trafford. However, reinforcement is still required for Amorim’s engine room, which is a two-man pivot in a 3-4-3.
As previously stated, the Portuguese tactician admires Baleba, a centre midfielder with Premier League experience. The team has contacted Brighton & Hove Albion, according to the aforementioned Ornstein. However, what would the 21-year-old cost?
The Real Price of the Baleba Summer Relocation Is Out

Baleba, who is expected to cost more than £100 million, has long been hailed as the next big midfield player. Moises Caicedo’s transfer to Chelsea and Declan Rice’s summer 2023 trade from West Ham United to Arsenal for a hefty price tag are two earlier examples.
Baleba was born in 2004, and at the age of 13, he enrolled at the Ecole de Football des Brasseries du Cameroun academy to hone his skills. His talent was immediately apparent. Before Brighton showed up, LOSC Lille, a French team, hired him in the summer of 2022.
Baleba is living evidence of the Seagulls’ exceptional talent identification, as we all know. He was somewhat of an essential presence in the middle of the park for German manager Fabian Hurzeler following a patchy season under Roberto De Zerbi.

Any potential buyer, including Manchester United, would have to pay approximately £105 million, or €120 million, to sign the Cameroonian, according to an ESPN report.
The report has also suggested that Baleba, whose 2024/25 Premier League statistics compare well against those of Rice and Caicedo, is happy to remain a Brighton player beyond this summer, despite the interest from Amorim and his entourage.
Baleba played 34 games for Brighton in the English Premier League last season, scoring three goals and dishing out an additional assist for good measure. But he does most of his job by interfering with the opposition’s play and then slicing through the middle with ease.

Baleba’s most adaptable quality on the football pitch is his physicality, which frequently helped Brighton play their free-flowing style of play. The left-footed star has all he needs to become one of the few world-beaters in the beautiful game.
Simply put, it is the responsibility of his future employers to make sure he stays on course and keeps his word. However, according to Ornstein, Brighton has no plans to move one of its best players this summer, and his current contract expires in 2028.
