BREAKING: Wayne Rooney ‘embarrassed’ after spotting Marcus Rashford on Man Utd training ground visit

When Wayne Rooney and his sons visited Manchester United’s training complex, he saw Marcus Rashford’s predicament up close.

After being left out of Manchester United’s travelling squad for their match against Fulham, Wayne Rooney observed Marcus Rashford exercising by himself at Carrington on Sunday.

The Red Devils legend, who was escorting his kids to their game at the team’s practice facility, called the incident “embarrassing” as doubts about Rashford’s future continue to swirl.

The 27-year-old was left out of the team that won 1-0 at Craven Cottage by Ruben Amorim, marking the 11th successful game in which he has not played.

Prior to a protracted exile, Rashford last participated in the 2-1 triumph at Viktoria Plzen on December 12; his head coach attributes this to his training mindset and application.

After failing to fly to Bucharest, he will miss 12 games in Thursday’s Europa League curtain-closer against FCSB.

Additionally, Rooney provided insight into Rashford’s routine when his teammates travel for games without him on the most recent Stick to Football episode.

“I went into Carrington on Sunday to take my kids to game day, and Marcus Rashford was out on the training pitch with the fitness coach,” the manager of Plymouth Argyle, who was just fired, clarified.

However, he was directly in front of the parents who were passing by to watch the children play. As parents passed by, I thought about how awkward that must be for him.

“When [Marcus Rashford’s training issues] began more than two years ago, I was surprised, but now I’m not,” he continued.

“I’ve talked to Marcus a few times, and I’ve expressed to him my opinion that he should quit the football team because, regardless of his personal circumstances, he isn’t the same at Manchester United.

“He needs to quit the club in order to start over. It’s absurd that your manager is publicly stating that you’re not receiving proper training.

Roy Keane voiced his displeasure with Rashford’s United career coming to a bitter end and didn’t mince words.

“I am unable to participate in the discussion. Whatever is going on with guys departing, months remaining on contracts, or a player who doesn’t practice properly, I still don’t understand it,” Keane remarked.

“You might as well keep me out of this discussion since I don’t comprehend it. particularly if you believe he wants to move, which is a stronger argument for appropriate training.

“You’re up to speed when you visit a new club, and at least you had a respectable demeanour as you left. He must feel embarrassed.

One of Rashford’s most encouraging former teammates in recent years, Ian Wright, was also unable to conceal his annoyance with the England international.

“The entire situation with Marcus Rashford is awful,” he said, “both how it began for him and where we are today. If that’s what your manager says about your training and work ethic…

“He should remain on the bench even if he wants to go, which he clearly does, because there are undoubtedly people observing your performance.

“Whether you’re at United or anywhere else, it’s up to you as a professional to go into training and work. Marcus is to blame, and it’s unfortunate to hear if that’s the case.

Rashford has five days left in the January transfer window, so he needs to find a way out before the deadline on February 3.

Even if Amorim is adamant about using the United No. 10, he has insisted that it is more crucial to set standards in order to help the team break out of its rut.
