Jose Mourinho will return to England this weekend to commentate on TNT Sports’ coverage of the Champions League final.
The former manager of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur was fired by Serie A powerhouse AS Roma in January, and he hasn’t held a full-time position in football since. Despite leading the team to the UEFA Conference League in the 2021/22 season, the Portuguese’s relationship with the club soured, and at the beginning of the season, the decision was made to part ways.
Since then, Mourinho has been active in Saudi Arabia, where it is said that multiple clubs are interested in signing him. The sixty-one-year-old has expressed his desire to work in the Middle East eventually.
Mourinho hasn’t entirely ruled out returning to the Premier League, though. Our colleagues at the Manchester Evening News reported that the seasoned manager would “walk to Manchester” to resume his leadership role at Manchester United.
There have been rumors that Mourinho will make a third stint at Chelsea, but neither of those scenarios seems likely. However, it is confirmed that the two-time Champions League winner will provide his expert analysis to English viewers this weekend at Wembley Stadium.
Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, Mourinho’s former team, will play on Saturday night. Los Blancos enter the game as overwhelming favorites to win a record-tying 15th Champions League.
Madrid, captained by Jude Bellingham, will be confident facing a Dortmund team that some think had a simpler route to the title. However, the German team impressed in the semifinals, defeating Kylian Mbappe’s PSG team 2-0 overall.
