BREAKING NEWS: Man City boss Pep Guardiola points finger after fuming at duo in Feyenoord collapse

When Man City lost to Feyenoord 3-0, manager Pep Guardiola became enraged.

Pep Guardiola attributed Manchester City’s Champions League loss against Feyenoord to the team’s inability to stay “stable.” The Premier League champions had a commanding 3-0 lead in the 75th minute, but in a stunning comeback, they gave up three goals.

Ilkay Gundogan’s deflected goal and Erling Haaland’s brace appeared to stop a five-game losing streak. However, Guardiola and his team suffered their most recent defeat when they unintentionally gave up three goals in 15 minutes, dropping them to six games without a victory going into Sunday’s crucial Premier League matchup with dominant leaders Liverpool.

Josko Gvardiol’s clumsy backpass allowed Anis Hadj-Moussa to round Ederson and convert from a tight angle, setting up Feyenoord’s opening goal, which infuriated the City manager.

However, more City mistakes led to goals from David Hancko and Santiago Gimenez, making the worst yet. In more than 900 games, this is the first time a Guardiola team has lost after taking a 3-0 lead.

“We played well and won the game 3-0, but we gave up a lot of goals because we weren’t steady. It was challenging because we gave them the first one first, followed by the second,” Guardiola told Amazon Prime.

“We are weak and obviously needed a win because we have lost a lot of games lately. The result helped boost our morale. We were playing at a high level, but we had issues the first time something went wrong.

I’m not sure if it’s mental. Both the first and the second goals are impossible. We were determined to win and do well, yet we end up losing games. After that, we forget what happened.

“The circumstances are what they are. We had a good game, but we can’t give them away at that level.”

City is currently outside of the Champions League’s league phase automatic qualification spots. Their eight points are a little less than the sixteen that are generally thought to be sufficient to place in the top eight.

To be sure of avoiding a play-off match, City probably has to defeat Club Brugge, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain.

“I’m not ready to think about that right now [winning the final three games to finish in the top eight],” Guardiola continued. We need to rest and get ready for the next match. It is challenging to succeed if we are unable to win games as we did today.
