Manchester United will make the short trip to Anfield to play Liverpool in the Premier League this afternoon
Liverpool has issued a statement asserting that all measures are being taken to facilitate the match against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
In light of the substantial snowfall in the country, Liverpool City Council’s Safety Advisory Group convened to assess the viability of the game proceeding. A decision has been postponed until 12pm.
The Liverpool City Council informed the Manchester Evening News that the City’s Ground Safety Advisory Group will reconvene at noon to deliberate on the match due to potentially altering weather conditions.
Liverpool issued a statement: “A safety meeting convened this morning to evaluate the weather and travel conditions for today’s match against Manchester United at Anfield.”
The match is now scheduled to proceed as planned, and all efforts are being exerted to ensure its occurrence. A subsequent safety meeting will occur at noon to evaluate the current conditions.

In the EFL, the matches Chesterfield vs Gillingham and Fleetwood Town vs AFC Wimbledon have been postponed due to inclement weather, whilst Crewe Alexandra vs Bromley will proceed as scheduled.
A message from Manchester United, subsequent to Liverpool’s, was disseminated on X, formerly known as Twitter. The match versus Liverpool is currently scheduled to proceed, notwithstanding the snow and weather warnings in the North West today.
“Exercise caution while traveling to the game — we will provide updates on the latest developments.”
Inspections were conducted at Chepstow and Plumpton racecourses to determine the feasibility of proceeding with racing. An update posted on X at 10:15 AM stated that races at Plumpton were canceled due to inclement weather, while Chepstow announced that its course had successfully passed inspection and races would proceed as scheduled.
