The summer transfer market is expected to be quite busy this week as teams try to close transactions in time for the 2023–24 accounting deadline.

It is commonly known that Chelsea is one of the teams who could have to achieve financial parity by June 30 to continue to be in compliance with the Premier League’s sustainability and profitability requirements (PSR). There may be a transfer in the upcoming days since Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle, Leicester, and Nottingham Forest are all supposedly in the same boat.

Tosin Adarabioyo, a centre back whose contract at Fulham ended, was said to be joining Chelsea earlier this month. Chelsea has already been very active in the summer window. Estevao Willian, a teenage forward from Palmeiras, was also signed by the Blues over the weekend. He will formally join the west London team in the summer. The 17-year-old will sign a contract with the potential to earn up to £51 million.

But, business is not anticipated to end there. According to reports, Chelsea and several other parties are close to finalising a number of other agreements, which may be revealed this week. To capitalise on the market, the Blues might also try to sign a few surprise players. Football.london looks at six possible transactions that could be made this coming week.

Kellyman, Omari
Aston Villa and Chelsea are in advanced negotiations after Chelsea made a £19 million transfer approach for Omari Kellyman, a breakout star. According to football.london, negotiations for the highly regarded 18-year-old from the West Midlands started over the weekend between the two teams. Although the Englishman has played on both the left and right wing in the past, he is most comfortable in the attacking midfield position.

According to reports, the adolescent will see the Blues on Monday for a medical, and an announcement about a deal is expected in the next few days. Kellyman signed a new contract at Villa in October after joining from Derby County two years prior. It is believed that the young player plays a similar role to Kai Havertz, an Arsenal player who was formerly at Chelsea.

Maatsen Ian
Ian Maatsen is a footballer who might be moving to Aston Villa this week. After reaching a £37.5 million deal with Chelsea, Villa Park is expecting to see the Netherlands international sign a long-term contract.

Maatsen is expected to finish his medical evaluation with Unai Emery’s team on Monday.

Duran Jonathon
Football may not be the only economic dealings between Chelsea and Aston Villa and Kellyman and Maatsen.London is aware that Jhon Duran, a teenage striker, is a target for the Blues. The 20-year-old, who made 37 appearances for Villa last season and scored eight goals, is expected to have a highly promising future.

Chelsea and Villa have held discussions regarding Duran football.London has been informed, but in recent days, interest in the striker has waned as focus has shifted to other players like Jonathan David and Marc Guiu. Duran moving to Chelsea is still a possibility, however it’s still possible.

Conor Gallagher
The midfield player Gallagher, who is set to enter the last year of his Chelsea contract, has been linked to a number of Premier League teams, including Tottenham, Arsenal, and Aston Villa. The midfield player, who made 50 appearances in the previous season, is valued by Chelsea at approximately £50 million; but, as his contract expires in 2025, he may be available for a little less.

Whether Chelsea would sell the 24-year-old is still up in the air, especially since he is presently representing England at Euro 2024. I would definitely watch this for the time being.

Amadou Onana
Given Everton’s well-documented financial problems, Onana might be allowed go in order to raise some desperately needed cash. A trade may be difficult to complete because the midfield player is presently away with Belgium at Euro 2024, but Onana has previously stated that he hopes to play for a “top club” in the future.

In an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, Onana stated: “You’ve seen in past competitions that the guys who performed well advance to the elite teams. That’s what I try to achieve. I feel like showcasing my skills and offering myself to the elite in Europe. This European Cup is just one phase.”

Hall Kiernan Dewsbury
With their £89.7 million loss for the 2022–2023 season, Leicester City has now lost almost £215 million in total for their last three Premier League seasons. The Premier League has accused them of violating the Profitability and Sustainability Rules throughout this time.

As a result, the Foxes might have to sell some of their assets this summer. Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s new head coach, is familiar with the players from their promotion-winning season. If Gallagher is let to depart, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall might be a suitable substitute. In 49 games played the previous season, the midfielder assisted on 15 goals and scored 12 goals himself. Should Chelsea want to pursue the Leicester player, the Englishman might be available for about £40 million.
